I watched Enders Game (which was OK, I stupidly googled something about it and saw a big spoiler which was annoying) and the last part is dark. Now all I see is side lights. I think I need to cover up the TV facing bit and make it more of an uplight, which is kind half is already.

I know what you mean JC about now not being able to not see it.
Had my son in the car once. Radio on as per norm. Can you hear that he says turning down the radio. Was obviously two things rubbing together but very faint. Drove me insane after that listening out for it. Had a service and asked the garage to see what the problem was but nothing found. Just played the radio louder after that. |

I moved the light back a bit and put something in front of it, now it's kind of the same amount of light (so I'm not sittign in the dark) but it's not concentrated so I don't see the actual lamp on the TV, so I'm happy ;)
It's the same with sound as you say, once you notice an irritating sound it's hard to tune it out. Or people's annoying habits and so on. |

A guy I used to work with when he made tea (with sugar) used to stir it for insanely long amounts of time, making noise as he did so, right next to me. Once I noticed that, it drove me MAD. I mean it just went on and on and on and on, tink tink tink scrape tink tink tink scrape tink tink. I can see how pensioners snap and kill their spouse

They should fit radios in Formula 1 cars. Turn them on at at the start of the race and you'd never need a pit stop.
