My thinking is that they will still be able to apply for work visas in the UK.

If we are going to adopt a similar system to Australia then EU workers will still be coming here and filling our factories, working on farms etc.
Employers are eager to claw back expenses after the National Living Wage increase, so having an EU worker on a zero hour contract will still be a ready option for 12 months, if that is the period before visa expiry.

EU workers presently are happily grafting like dogs for short periods, as to save up money to return home with.
Whether recruitment agencies will be monitored after a Brexit, who knows but business will still be screaming for an efficient labour force.

agree nothing will change, if labour, day rate, hourly rate for some skill trade goes up, cheaper labour will be invited in.

If that is the case then brendan as we believe, then businesses requiring lower skilled workers will remain in the UK.
They will still be able to get the EU efficient worker and any higher skilled EU workers will remain here long term.
Where there is a will there is a way, so with a few changes the song could remain pretty much the same for the UK workers.
