Tesco is unpopular because it was successful and we dont like that sort of thing over here.
A profitable Tesco is good for tens of thousands of employess and their families and looking at their margins nobody can sensibly claim they are ripping people off. |

a retail analyst said on the news that they make 0.3p profit for every £1 spent in their stores. In the past it was 8p per £1.

Tesco are/have been ripping you off for years, and now they are back in the black after a few hiccups...... now celebrate being ripped off you fluckers.

That margin will rise though. The 8% margin was the highest level just like 0.3 will probably be the lowest. Its just comparing two extremes. Not exactly quality analysis but thats what the media loves these days.

Mr Lewis hailed the supermarket's £162m statutory pre-tax profit for the year to 27 February, compared to last year's £6.3bn loss, as "significant progress".
People at the self service checkout must be getting more honest. |

I suspect they would & have not hesitated in cutting thousands of jobs with the invention of self service tills, yes everyone likes to cut costs but this is done solely at the expense of staff to maximize profits, I doubt their main priority is the welfare of staff. |

Some people might say I'm a rip-off merchant. The difference is, I'm not selling water, electricity, bread or milk. No one needs to buy a magazine.
