The Sound Of Silence....

Can't hear it

Hearing aid on?

was in a van listening to Ken Bruce when this came on this morning - turned to Mrs Sales and said "Disturbed, on Radio 2, what the fuuuck?"

Ken likes it

saw 'em at Ozzfest in 2001, performed a cover of Tears For Fears' Shout during their set.

they've done a few covers over the years (including Genesis' Land of Confusion ffs)

S&G's best choon no doubt.    Touches me to the core.

this version is too slow

I like that.

But the original is a shiver down the neck song. So beautiful and utterly timeless. It will still sound perfect in 50 years. Equally haunting is their Scarborough Fair. Chuck in Mrs Robinson and The Graduate has one of the most brilliant soundtracks ever.

This cover has been doing the rounds for months now. It's Marmite and I'm in the hate camp.

quelle surprise

What are you surprised about, Capt?

Or not surprised about, I should have said

Exactly

Find it hard to understand no one liking this version..it sends chills down my spine.

Better than Simon and Garfunkel's.

Much more emotion and thought put into it.

Thanks Jack..thought it was just me

Just heard it for the first time

first 30 seconds thought sh1t ,but it does grow on you

Original for me but this is a good cover imo
and would play it again

Cheers ...i can't stop playing it...driving the misses doolally

can even understand what he sings , been gargling with acid

Prefer the original by a mile.

What's with all the hardware on his boat?

Doesn't do it for me, switched off when the yelling started

knowing me knowing you

I'd jail the bastard for murdering the original, one of the best songs ever written.
