NOW RECTIFIED AND CORRECT AND VERIFED>>>>>>>>
The last 9 holes have been among the best bits of golf viewing for many years for me.... and if he ever reads this or anyone gets to add mine to the others, very very many congratulations and well done Danny Willett. Excellent performance.
We've had to wait to the very end for so much as far as the competition is concerned for those of you who have been taking an interest (I at know one of you have been absorbed).
Here are the section results and scores: Plenty of favourite picks came in, but not all. However the day1 lead for Spieth with nobody getting the 2nd or 3rd made all the difference.
Section A: Top Australian: J. Day (3 pts), A. Scott (1 pt)
Section B: Top ROW (inc S.A.): H.Matsuyama (4 pts), K. Aphibarnrat & L. Oosthuizen (1.5 pts each)
Section C: Top Brit: D. Willett (4 pts), L. Westwood (2 pts), P. Casey (1 pt)
Section D: Top European: The unpicked S. Kjeldsen (4 pts), R. Cabrera-Bello (2 pts), H. Stenson & B. Langer (0.5 pts each).
Section E: R3 K & W names (done already) 7 (4 pts), 6 or 8 (2 pts), 5 or 9 (1 pt)
Section F: Top Irish: R. McIlroy (2pts)
Section G: Top American: J. Spieth (5 pts, JB Holmes & D. Johnson (2.5 pts each), D. Berger & B. Snedeker (0.5 pts each)
Section H: Day 1 leader: (done already) J. Spieth (6 pts) no-one picked 2nd or 3rd
Section I: Best R2 score: (done already) 71 - no-one scored.
Section J: Cutmaking 1st timers: (done already) 11 (3 pts), 10 or 12 (1 pt)
Section K: Winning Margin: 3 shots (3 pts)
Section L: Winning Score: 283 (5 pts), 282 or 284 (3 pts), 281 or 285 (2 pts), 280 or 286 (1 pt)
Congratulations go to:
1st place with 27.5 points: bobweenit who gains £100 in sportsbook bets
2nd goes to lockup who scored 26 and gets £50
3rd place, tv man 25.5 points and £30
4th place, Tamesis on 22 points.
We didn't even need to refer to the Grand National Tiebreak.
Well done people.
As for me, I made jt 41st, thank you all for taking part, I hope you enjoyed the event and the competition, keep a look out for my next one.
Thanks too, to Betfair for the prize fund.
