I saw some videos on youtube. the Diet guru says you burn fat when you sleep. You don't burn much jumping about and running. You do make muscle which will help burn fat when you sleep.
cutting sugar and carbs - makes your body burn fat stores. While there is a sugar store in the body, the body burns that first and never gets to the fat.
So - exercise lightly - stop sugar and carbs(one day a week only) - sleep a lot.
Don't do extreme exercises that ruin your joints. don't count calories. no fruit(once a week).
meat, fats, nuts, all vegetables, even chips twice a week. - stop this punishment cycle of mad diets. natural foods.
I've been watching this guy's vids and am intrigued. I'm a sucker for stuff that actually goes into the biology and chemistry of it and tries to explain why this is causing us to do that etc.
However, I'm not a fan of the no fruit angle. Sure, fruit contains sugar but it also contains a lot of other nutrients that we need. Doesn't help that I'm not a massive veg fan so will always err towards fruit if I'm aiming to eat healthy.

i'm Scottish so imagine the diet I'm used to - I eat my veggies but i'm not in love with them. love french toast but not had more than five slices of bread in 9 months. Fruit is excluded in my version because of the sugars. Still think you should have one day off to eat excluded stuff. eliminating any food is a bad thing. just broke 16 stone - was 20st 3lbs. only 9 months. had to give up bread, pasta, rice, fruit and chips. but meat is okay. butter. peanuts.etc. lots of other good stuff to replace the carbs. one day a week treat. So you dont go apesh!t and go on a binge.
still will not eat garden peas, courgettes and aubergines - my kryptonite. okay with marrowfat peas. Fill up on salads, broccoli with cheese sauce, mash? last week two plates of chips and still lost three pounds.

i'm sick of diets myself - they have never worked - the weight loss is secondary. the guy on youtube(dr eric berg) tries to get you fit. once you are fit the weight drops away. My weight after two months wasn't moving. then it stared coming off. it's a weird process. All about hormones and nutrients.

no more on diet then from me - I try to help and point out the only diet that ever worked for me - its rapid weight loss. Pearls before swine. everyone out there now is so insular and closed off. believe the hype - buy iphones and burgers. i am not selling a dvd. A booklet or a blender. free advice that works if you apply it. keep eating the white man's poison pills. tata.

I like the guy's videos and how he explains stuff. But at the end of the day, his dietary recommendations seem to amount to eat less pasta, bread etc, not too much meat, as much veg and fish as you can. All pretty standard stuff. The only controversial point is that about fruit. If the idea is that this is a healthy long term lifestyle choice rather than a quick faddy diet I don't get how fruit can't be a part of it.
No fruit - that's a surprise. Can't tell if this is sarcastic or not.I like the guy's videos and how he explains stuff. But at the end of the day, his dietary recommendations seem to amount to eat less pasta, bread etc, not too much meat, as much veg
Fruit can be part of it if it's not high glycemic fruit. The diet he's on about depends on a delicate balance where your body either burns fat or glucose. If you eat foods that raise blood glucose (and many fruits and juices do) then that process stops dead, it is just the way it is. If it's micronutrients you are worried about they can all be found in other sources, such as green leafy veg, nuts, meat whatever.
