the Shemittah straddles the year, in sets of seven years.. At the end of 49 years israel gets a blessing or a curse. depending on it's behaviour.
1868-1869 bismarck abolishes racial profiling - jewish rights for an israel formed.
1917-1918 balfour declaration - british recognize the right for a jewish state.
1966-1967 jews return to jerusalem, their holy city.
2015-2016 ? expecting a blessing?

Nice one Zorro. You have definitely found the 3 biggest blessing / curse to have happened to Jewish people in the past 150 years.
In fact if writing a book on 20th century Jewish history you can pretty much start with the Balfour Declaration then skip forward to 1966-1967. |
