Another planned terror attack, this one resulting in a conviction instead of a catastrophe.

Another sobering illustration of the time bomb remorselessly ticking away in Britain and Europe. How far is your street away from a plotter like this?

Still, no doubt this entirely predictable (almost everyday) occurrence offers a nice opportunity for a Chit Chatter. I'm sure that someone somewhere can find a nice wholesome story again of a Peace-Loving Religious Person in Britain doing something really good.

Last time it was a sportsman "busting his gut for Britain"….a story so fragrant that even our very own IAN Mohammed described it as "positive" and "refreshing" ... the ludicrous subtext being that the sportsman's efforts balanced the multiplicity of treachery and terror.

Yeah that was me

But looking at the output of some contributors to our little cultural phenomenon, there really are some po-faced, one-trick ponies.

Just thought I'd either even it up a bit or provoke some of 'the usual suspects' into even greater paroxysms of anti-Muslim fury - like it really counts for anything set against the quest for Siobhan.

What's the longest stretch of days in the last few years without something like this in the news, and the left are falling over themselves to increase the frequency. ...I wonder how hard Hungarian is to learn..

Blackbarn, now you say it I remember reading that, but listened to a bit of that viktor speech someone posted the other day and it didn't sound very finnish. I've heard finnish before and thought it was quite sing songy to the ear. Maybe hungarian has been influenced a lot in accent more by the slavik and german neighbours, it sounded a bit more harsh?

Well, well, well, who would have thought it?

Just one week on from the above atrocity, we have news of more Cultural Enrichment in this flagship town.

While Old-Fashioned, Dinosaur, 'Hideously White', Unprogressive Britain was enjoying the Grand National meeting, The US Masters, 'Line of Duty' and checking our overseas investment portfolios, the New Vibrant, Diverse, Enriching, Peace-Loving, Enforced Culture was making its presence visible again in Luton. Where else?

A Labour Councillor has been suspended after a series of nauseating Tweets appeared on her account. (I expect it was someone else who actually made them though, or they maybe appeared as a result of Inadvertent Sleeptweeting, right?).

There are no details as yet though of ANY police interest or action. Curious indeed when police forces across our land appear to be chained to Twitter.

Lest we forget. just before Easter, a young white man in Croydon was infamously dragged off the streets at high speed by police and held in the cells for two days without bail. His 'offence' was to reveal on Twitter that he had asked a Muslim constituent to 'explain' the Brussels Bombings.

A quite ridiculous 'investigation' was made into the young man's actions, before he was rightly and belatedly released without charge a few days later.

I'd say the Tweets reported in this BBC link are a good deal more worthy of police investigation.

They are indeed a good deal more worthy of police investigation than the other comments alun under the legislation we have allowed to spring up and its zealous enforcement. The problem being it is only zealously enforced in certain instances. It's a mess. As offensive as it is people like this should be able to say "Hitler was right" if they want and the rest of us should be able to ridicule them and make them feel extremely small, insignificant and stupid as they should be made to feel.

Of course I also respect Labour's decision to make her a councillor after her comments. That's democracy. We know what kind of party they are.

As if there wasn't enough insanity raging through our public sector institutions, let me take you to a typical Bedfordshire police station, where your faith needs will be treated as a matter of priory by our well-trained staff.

This is a document freely available on the Net, published by HM Inspectorate of Prisons, outlining the findings of an unannounced visit to police custody suites in Bedfordshire.

For those who can't be bothered to read through it all (and I don't blame you), may I refer you, for example, to Section 2 Para 2.9  and Section 4  Para 4.9 where you will see how a typical British police service absurdly complies with the faith needs and cultural sensitivities of certain favoured peace-loving types.

well well well what a turn up for the books...

Britain desperately wants to think of its Muslims as versions of the Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain, or the cheeky-chappie athlete Mo Farah. But thanks to the most detailed and comprehensive survey of British Muslim opinion yet conducted, we now know that just isn’t how it is.”

The question is how do we get our country back?
& how are those at the top planning on doing this?

We having even got as far as halting the takeover of our towns and cities yet, never mind taking our country back.

Governments are simply putting off addressing the problem, hoping that the balloon won't go up during their term in office.

Amazing isn't it?

Faced with a chance to vote to power political parties that would do exactly as you suggest, the British electorate, from the privacy of the ballot box, spurn such parties like a rabid dog.

Suggesting it's perhaps not such as big an issue as many in here and the 'Enoch was right' brigade think it is.

Who would have thought that one of the purposes of a Bedfordshire Police Station would be to be act as a de facto place of religious worship, where the sensitivities of at least one particular faith are observed with the utmost delicacy?

Maybe "Songs of Praise" should consider doing a Multi-Faith Special Edition from Luton Nick? Maybe they can dress up the presenters in comedy police outfits?

Hitherto I'd wrongly assumed that a police station existed primarily for the purposes of the investigation of crime, and where individuals can assist officers engaged in that process.

When you enter a British police station (as with the NHS, Prisons and other public sector buildings) your faith, colour, sexual preferences and gender 'identification' should have no bearings whatsoever on proceedings. In a police station you are there to assist police officers, treated equally, if necessary with your legal representative.

In a roundabout way - my point in a nutshell!

And my point proven.

There's only been the BNP who got 560,000 votes at the 2010 election.
That despite being a racist party with a dodgy background and standing on a single issue.

After UKIP switched their spotlight from leaving the EU to the damaging effects that immigration was having on the people they netted 4 million votes.

And that took some doing with half the voters from the big two parties who could have voted for them, afraid of switching and letting in the other side.

Paint it how you like Doctor - you'll be invoking the ghost of Dereck Beackon next to 'prove' how popular the extreme right is - parties standing on a largely 'blood and soil' nationalistic ticket have been consistently rejected by the British Electorate, despite all the bluster in groups like this.

Like I said, to the point where there really is no credible party prepared to stand on such a narrow. marginal appeal basis, despite all the dire warnings.

To be fair to those who have tried to address the Islamic takeover of Europe, they quickly get smashed by the media and other poltical types. The closing of ranks is quite extraordinary.

UKIP itself was described by Cameron as being a 'bunch of closet racists' before famously saying to their supporters 'come home'.

Anyone on the right wing is marginalised, branded 'extreme' or 'controversial'.

It's extremely difficult for anyone with right wing views to be heard.
By:
alun2005
When: 20 Apr 16 18:29
Even more absurdly the UKIP are referred to as an 'extreme right-wing party'. Curious then that the media luvvies never discuss why so many traditional working-class Labour voters cast their vote for this 'extreme right-wing party' at the 2015 General Election.

The word fascist should suffice for those who reject democracy and wish to impose their view by force and without dissent.

The left have added far right to them  and so anyone  who   is on the right of the political discourse can be accused of guilt by association and thus abused as frequently happens .
The left use Hitler as their benchmark but he was a 'National Socialist' and like  the other ruthless ,murdering dictators Stalin ,Mao and Castro  all came to power like Hitler came to power under the banner of Socialism /Communism.

Therefore if it is felt necessary to add another description for Fascism then far left would be more accurate.

Sorry but this won't wash.

Britain (or the British establishment) hates any kind of perceived extremism in its politics be it notional left or notional right. Look at the demonization of actual left-wing firebrands such as Scargill and 'Red Robbo' from the 1970's and 80's to soft lefties like Kinnock.

(Party)Politics in the UK is about who manages capitalism the best, not about effecting any meaningful change, certainly not of the kind desired by many contributors to this thread.
