There's a Freeview channel coming out soon that might be of interest.

Mostly showing he best of the archived newsreels and decent weather forecasts from the 70s through to the 90s.

It was to be called ''Play it again Sam''
But that would be inappropriate considering all the presenters were white in those days.

Freak weather is not unique to the UK; the storms of '87 (thankfully it occurred at night or heaven only knows what the casualties would have been) and '90 and the long hot summer of 76, all worse than anything experienced today
