The tweet read: "I confronted a Muslim woman yesterday in Croydon. I asked her to explain Brussels. She said 'Nothing to do with me'. A mealy mouthed reply."

A man has been arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred after allegedly posting a tweet in response to the Brussels attacks.

Do not trust someone who says they are anti-racist. They are completely unscrupulous like the nazis and communists were.

Yes possibly, but then maybe that is because they are generally more honest..and in the main nicer and less dangerous people.

Let's all hope the Chief Constable is brought before Parliament or a Home Office Committee to explain why his/her officers have made such a catastrophic failure of policing, as exemplified by this ridiculous arrest.

I actually found his tweet amusing, if I'm allowed to say such a thing as a confirmed supporter of jihad.

It's staggering to think what can get you arrested. All the tools are in place for a police state. Good job we are a free society and are defending those values against those who wish to destroy them. Laugh

it is important for people in Britain (and most of Europe) to remember one thing. You must no longer consider yourself British or to have any responsibility or obligation to Britain or to the idea of being part of the millions of people who live here....you must withdraw from the nation state as much as possible and treat the vast majority of the people that you meet with suspicion and caution, even fear.
Say something that many thousands find offensive and they may not just shrug their shoulders..this is the mentality, its a new world and a dangerous one.

This ludicrous arrest means that any TV Politics broadcaster who asks a Muslim guest to 'explain' the latest atrocity committed by Peace-Loving Men will also have to be arrested.

Not entirely true, but you must never, ever court a 'bad prejudice' running counter to the nation state's (and their media) agenda.

Can't see how this is any anyway racist. Sounds more like a crap joke than anything. If he did genuinely approach a random muslim and ask this then he sounds a complete idiot for doing so and then posting about it on twitter given he is in public relations don't see what he thought this would achieve.

According to that they can arrest you for anything you might say or ask about Muslims on the grounds of inciting racial hatred.
Even after they've bombed a city.

The woman was white according to the report.

So it makes his arrest even more baffling.

"I confronted a Muslim woman yesterday in Croydon. I asked her to explain Brussels."

Confronted - come face to face with (someone) with hostile or argumentative intent. Legally, he's got a problem - you can't go around confronting people on the street!

Now if he had tweeted " I had a conversation with a passerby about Brussels. I was interested in her thoughts. She looked as though she may have been a muslim". Now he's just making innocent small talk to pass the time of day. No problemo

Microsoft unveiled Tay — a Twitter bot that the company described as an experiment in "conversational understanding." The more you chat with Tay, said Microsoft, the smarter it gets, learning to engage people through "casual and playful conversation."

Unfortunately, the conversations didn't stay playful for long. Pretty soon after Tay launched, people starting tweeting the bot with all sorts of misogynistic, racist

it's not just our country that's barking. Over in the US a 12 year old girl has been arrested for pinching a boy's arse at school. Shocked

A GIRL of 12 has been charged with battery because she pinched a boy's bum at school.

Breana Evans was arrested and taken to a juvenile detention centre near Orlando, Florida after allegedly touching the boy during a playground game at school.

Initially Breana was suspended from school and the victim told the school he didn't want to press charges.

But police reported that his mother called and said she wanted to prosecute.

You'd think that the police would have better things to do than investigate pretendy-crime, not least since Croydon has become synonymous with gang-related crime.

The police are obviously over staffed if they've got time to waste on petty stuff like this.

That's why the Tories have been cutting their numbers.

The Long Arm of the Law has form as long as your arm for these sorts of ludicrous interventions.

Take this excruciating and pernicious investigation, where an elderly woman was basically arrested just for possession of a G*lliw*g toy. This non-crime made its way all the way to court before the case collapsed. The CPS offering no evidence after something called a 'High Level Review". Heads should have rolled across the police and CPS. None did.

.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/8845544/Race-charges-dropped-in-golliwog-row-after-high-level-review.html

And then there's this trifling non-issue which also required a police investigation. The person being investigated for 'race-hate' in this example below btw is a TV glove puppet called BASIL BRUSH.

Why hasn't this fella been arrested???

The religious leader at Scotland's biggest mosque has praised an extremist who was executed for committing murder in Pakistan, the BBC can reveal.

The crime was carried out because of apparent blasphemy against Islam.

We see the true nature of Islam lower down in the article. 30000 people attended the killer's funeral.Shocked

Perhaps the BBC ought to stop Muslims on the streets of Croydon and ask them about that..
