At these tense times, when Peace-Loving Men demonstrate their ability to rape, bomb and assassinate their way across Europe with impunity, would it help dismiss the much-discussed "Islamophobic" climate if the BBC showed all known episodes of Chit Chat's very favourite (alleged) comedy series?
Surely a dawn-till-dusk, saturation showing of this much-loved televisual feast, instead of addressing matters like National Security and the Free Movement of Terrorists across Europe, is what's needed to reassure us that everything in the UK garden is rosy?
BTW, I know that global concern about Terrorism, and Mass-Murder in the name of faith is just 'Islamophobia', because I watch Channel 4 News. It has "Nothing To Do With" ANY peaceful religion thank you.
An Easter special of Horrible Histories presented by Citizen Khan would be well timed. He could cover the history of Islam, with a plethora of humorous anecdotes and fun facts that many instinctively associate with the faith.

Great idea alun,I am particularly keen on the episode where Mr K bought a chicken shop. The local mosque had a protest group outside but this was a BBC group of Muslims so there was a fair share of whities dressed in Islamic robes. As an actor you would have to be desperate to take the job.

Maybe a spin off is in order - Citizen Khan't. An extreme suicide bomber who gets into all sorts of hilarious shenanigans whilst strapped to a bomb, but every episode when he presses the button at the end of the show, it fails to detonate and the credits roll as he shouts "Oh twadi!" to uproarious laughter.
Could bring the whole community together? Muslims and Christians gathering together at the pub to watch it as one, sharing special moments with each other that they didn't before. Christians seeing the funny side of suicide bombing, Muslims seeing the futility of suicide bombing due to Mr Khan't's ineptitude, everyone learning lessons and deciding to make friends.

My masterplan to raise the country's morale, by saturation exposure to the nation's favourite comedian WON'T work.
You see the Great Man has told us that HE of all people has ALSO been subjected to vile threats from Peace-Loving folk.
Unthinkable I know, but there are umpteen reports of it all over various news media. Putting the programme on all day would conceivably make an already tense situation even more dangerous.

Alun, a triple bill of the 'On The Buses' movies currently on ITV3 will cheer you up. The darts match in the canteen will go down in history as one of the great sporting spectacles.

Indeed Cosmo. Those with long memories will recall I've ALWAYS regarded that at The Greatest Darts Match In History.
And lest we forget in that very same film ('Mutiny On The Buses') we have the peerless "Mr Jenkins" character, a public sector boss way ahead of his time. A man who sees nothing wrong in spending the bus company's funds on, erm, 'entertaining' a female member of staff (the exquisitely-named Nymphy Nora) in his office, and dipping into the petty cash to pay for a replacement pair of tights for her when they get wet. Jenkins naturally removing the wet ones for her.
What a stellar example of 1970s public sector management !
