I've just posted exactly the same. Second again, as per.

I've never done the UK lottery, and only noticed it as someone put a thread up on the main forum.

How can they justify that though? And £25 for matching 3! Crazy
Report crags • March 23, 2016 11:33 PM GMT
Surely anyone with 5 numbers would get the payout for 3, 4 and 5?  Still not a lot, but you can't possibly win less for doing better, can you?
Report pumphol. • March 23, 2016 11:36 PM GMT

You would have to be a total nutjob to do the lottery with payouts like this, two million pounds  used for a free go with two numbers & they call that a winner LaughLaugh

They will be having a rethink about this pretty soon, it's madness. Can you imagine having all 4 horses win in a yankee but being better off if the last one had lost?

That daily fail website is a god awful thing.
It's second only to ATR for holding content to ransom and plastering adverts to offensive levels.
Fair enough sitting through an ad to watch something.....but you have to do it everything for every single thing.

Reminds me of chanderpaul coming into bat with adverts on his cheeks.

It's 100% certain that they didn't. I think it's clear that most did though.
Report akabula • March 24, 2016 1:52 PM GMT
@TBB It's pretty certain that 7 14 21 28 35 42 is a popular choice so even if only half them did those numbers the Jackpot would be less than £12k.
The point being, whether it's half or most, that the prize would be ridiculously low and I'm certain that will apply to other patterns.

Report Mikael D'Haguenet • March 24, 2016 2:01 PM GMT
1-2-3-4-5-6 is THE most popular selection. People generally have no idea about these things.

A few years ago I was on my way into town and my Dad asked me to put his lotto on. I told him I was having a go on the Irish looto instead. So he gave me a couple of quid extra and asked if I'd do one for him too. He didn't give me any numbers so I just used the same numbers (well, maybe 5 of his 6) as his English lotto. When I handed him his docket he was raging that there was no way that the same numbers were going to be drawn on the Irish and English lottos on the same night! He was right, of course...

I don't play the lottery. Far better having a horse in training with Alan Berry.
