Just goes to show what the americans really worship.

I have difficulty seeing how what he did to be wrong, whether somebody buys stock or sells it they have to determine that choice based on the whole market, including people who many or may not change their minds.

It baffles me how they can determine intent with regard to possible purchases.
Surely the market determines that by the price?
If people want to buy it they buy.

Surely they then have to decide how long stock should be held too?

Am surprised he has been charged with anything ,its dog eat dog ,everyone trying to cheat and con each other ,thats what markets do ,rats v rats .
A lot more to this ,cant believe he tickled all the levers and crashed the dow by that amount  ,the speed was phenomenal and some stocks hit the floor in mins ,very interesting case ,most people trading do not have the info the big corps have ,just the same as the fast pics ,the magnitude of this crash was unprecedented it would appear .Am no trading wiz kid nor do i really understand the markets but find this one fascinating ,tbh if he has found a way he should be given a medal not the jail ,ffs all traders are up to no good imo ,thoroughly dodgy lot .Is it a case of you shall not cheat the cheaters ?

the stock market has always been something they want to push, the fact somebody made a fool of the guessers trying desperately to make money from nothing and losing out as a result undermines the concept of selling it to the public (who tend to be there for the taking for others)

yes ,everyone that trades is trying to take advantage of others ,algorithms are written by geeks  to exploit market movement ,or if your a big player ,create movement and take advantage .
There is no mention of financial terrorism so a bit bamboozling.
Think a lot of whats really going on will never see the light of day here Laugh

Thats the way i also see it.

If its an offense to 'spook' the market then surely questions will get asked about bets placed on here too?

he funnelled his profits from trading to a firm called “Nav Sarao Milking Markets Limited”, based in Nevis, a Caribbean tax haven, although he has no obvious ties to the dairy industry.
