cut out all carbs and sugars - they cause diabetes.
carbs turn to sugars in the body.
you will not burn fat while sugar is present in the body.
it can take three days before your body turns to its fat stores.

i have reduced my sugar content down to almost nothing now - was a major sugar fiend. eating a couple of pounds(£) worth of chocolate a day.

there's a guy on youtube - dr eric berg that explains why you get cravings for sugar. He tells you the body wants potassium. Sweets offer the promise of potassium but rarely delivers. You can't eat masses of bananas a day... because of sugars in them. He tells you to eat lots of green/red salads. the potassium in the salad stops the craving. I followed this guys advice and for eight months i had a run where i ate no refined sugar. Couldn't believe how i felt about the chocolate aisles in the shop. The chocs had no hold on me.

i noticed all the fat vanishing and all my muscles firmed up. I exercised for years and got no results. I sat on my arse and it all came together on mr bergs diet?
the body will burn sugars and carbs(they quickly turn into sugars in the body) first. then when sugars are not available it will turn to its fat stores for energy. As long as any sugar is present you will find it really hard to lose fat stores. Fruit is full of sugar... its natural sugar but still very high. All those smoothies they advertise on tv are going to impact on your pancreas. To turn on the fat burning hormone you should eat a small amount of protein - palm size. Fish has almost no fat that's bad for you. nuts/seeds. meat as a last choice? veggies as much as you can eat.
one of my favourites was to cook a bag of carrots/broccoli and cauliflower in a cheap tin of chicken soup.  the soup became a thick sauce.

i hate all that guru crap that surrounds the message he's giving out though. He does acupressure too - i tried one thing on my neck and got a weird vulcan nerve thing in my chin that lasted for months, chin felt cold? - so if you look him up do not do the acupressure? he talks common sense when it comes to diet.

big bowl of salad - fish or peanut butter - oil/apple vinegar dressing(vit c) -

lost 3 stone in nine months. feel fitter. still need to lose more. sticking to it till i get to fighting fitness.

While sitting on your arse on Mr Berg's diet is better than sitting on your arse while fatter, you are missing out on the multiple benefits of exercise.

hasn't peanut butter got a lot of sugar in it

also I read somewhere that cutting out carbs completely could also be harmful

problem with all these crappy salads is you never feel full up, couple of hours later you're starving again
Report Shrewd_dude • March 23, 2016 1:43 PM GMT
You can buy peanut butter that is just 100 per cent peanuts in health food shops etc. Most of the stuff in supermarkets does have a lot of added sugar though.

The body produces its own glucose so you don't need to eat it, but cutting out entirely is neither comfortable nor enjoyable. But what he's talking about is a state called ketosis, where you eat so little carbs that your body uses ketone bodies it produces to break up and burn your fat for energy. But if you don't keep your carbs low the body can't make the switch so you just become weak (because you're eating too many carbs but not enough for THEM to give you the energy). The ketones only start getting produced in the right numbers when you restrict carbs. The trouble is that can be different for different people. I've been on a ketogenic diet for 2 years solid, and I keep to below 30g a day, that's what suits me.

Actually I agree with zazu, it is horses for courses because I could say exactly what he says except replace 200g of sugar with 30g of carbohydrate in total. You should do whatever suits you.

As for brekkers, on a high fat diet I love scrambled eggs, scrambled in proper butter and kippers, fills you up for hours on end.

It's horses for courses but there's only 3 types.

Ectomorph, Mesomorph and Endomorph.

Ectomorphs can within reason, basically eat what they want when they want. Slim with fast metabolisms
Mesomorphs are average and Endomorphs are fat b@stards that only need to look at a cake to put on 4 pounds.

Find out your body type then do what's best for you

I've read Banting's book (well pamphlet) and it is very interesting to see how all this great sensible advice disappeared in favour of just the opposite advice starting around 1960.

understand the - Oh joy, yet another who's read an article somewhere and now thinks he is an expert on nutrition and healthy living. -

because i tried the calorie counting - lost all will power over twenty yrs. this diet puts you in control. reduces cravings. you just dont want to eat the white man's poisons anymore.
All my family around me was eating pizza and sweets. bakery goods and currys. I was looking at the food and it meant nothing to me. crazy.
