Women just that ain't into sport, so I don't know they just don't admit it

Men compete in more sports, men watch more sport, men talk more about sport..in fact it tends to be a man thing

But men don't stop women who want to participate in sport, so why this need to keep pushing women's sport????????????????????????????

I admit women do like their tennis, although they don't all like to watch women players, some of them prefer to watch men playing

Get this notion that women can compete with the best male golfers out of your head.

The gap between the best male and female golfers is as big as in tennis and football.

Lets take 2 golfers:
Zach Johnson - winner of two majors, The British Open and the US Masters

Average driving distance - 282 yards

Michelle Wie - winner of one major US Open

Average driving distance - 274 yards (Incidentally Lexi Thompsons is 287 yards)

When you consider that Michelle Wie is a naturally more talented golfer than eg Nick Faldo ever was there is no reason that she could not have competed and won on the mens tour.
Report Mikael D'Haguenet March 24, 2016 10:36 AM GMT
Is that the same naturally-more-talented-than-a-six-time-major-winner Michelle Wie who played in eight PGA events and missed the cut eight times?
Report lfc1971 March 24, 2016 10:43 AM GMT
You will find that half the men also missed the cut. It is much more difficult to step on tour and immediately feel comfortable and confident.
She would have had to join the tour from the start of her career, and before she had let Leadbetter change her swing.
Someone as talented should never change anything in their golf swing, it is too fleeting and a gift to be so reckless.
Report Mikael D'Haguenet March 24, 2016 10:46 AM GMT

Anneka Sorenstam, twice the player Wie will ever be, played on the PGA tour and couldn't make a cut.

Please also consider that women's courses on the LPGA tour are set up much, much easier than mens.

Report lfc1971 March 24, 2016 10:55 AM GMT
You see at the end of the day you have to be able to stand on the tee and hit a drive long and straight....this is something that is very difficult and everything, including the setting up of a course is secondary to this...assuming the course is not tricked up in some way

Men and Women are not the same, and they have different roles in human society.

What is changing, particularly in the West is that we now want both sexes to share roles equally.

As well as making this totally confusing for older men like me, I wonder is this sensible?

Men are designed for when the going gets tough. They are physically more powerful than women, they have larger brains,

men are more aggressive and competitive, men can make faster decisions than women(not that they are always right).

Women are designed for child bearing and rearing, and dealing with household matters, they savour their decisions more.

There are always a few exception to the rule, but in general this holds.

Because of our science we now live in a much easier world. There is also the pill. So women can now perform a lot more of men's

roles. In very intricate factory work they are in fact better.

When they do this though, they bring their own values with them, the most noticeable is they are far more risk adverse than men,

because risk adverseness paid off in rearing children. Men always had to take greater risk in things such hunting, protecting the group etc.

and better designed for the heavy physical work.

I would like us to keep a demarcation line between women and men. To try and keep our separate roles as much as possible, although we can be

flexible. We don't need all this discrimination rubbish really. "There are not 50% female bricklayers so they are discriminated against, etc,"

it is ludicrous.

I am calling for demarcation because I think it will make for a better society.

After all that I am probably still a misogynistBlush, except to Annie of course.Happy

I had no idea tennis balls differed in size!

I know women cricketers' use smaller balls and hadn't given tennis a thought.

Anyway, just had a look at Wimbledon QF tickets for debenture holders.

Tue July 5th 2016 Ladies QF £1630 for 2

Wed July 6th 2016 Mens QF   £4710 for 2.

I think it's fair to say that there is wholesale discrimination shown to fans based on whether they want to watch the men or the women. Also that clearly Wimbledon itself rates the Mens tournament much more valuable.

You have made my day, ebulGery Happy  I am such a sucker for a kind word on here!

I don't think you are really a misogynist, you are just fed up, as I am, with all this 'equality' lark.  As you say the reason there are not 50% bricklayers is because women don't want to be bricklayers.

Men and women are equal, but different.  They have a different  outlook on life,  different desires, different attributes etc etc etc.

In fact women have it much easier today than men, especially if they are attractive.  Although I wish I had been born a man, I am much more male than female in a way and it would have been easier for me being male.  I adored gambling on horseracing for most of my life, play poker now, love football and some sports,  never married, never particularly wanted children etc etc.
