All this claptrap that surrounds Christianity. anyone that reads the bible knows all this is guff. Jesus did not come to set up religions. Splintered religions. the people that believe in Jesus are the church.(everyone that believes in Jesus). Call no man father. God is your father. So going to the church on Sunday and asking father o'mally to hear confession is just bizarre.
saints? - judgement day is not here yet, so praying to saints that have not been judged yet?
good actions in life cannot make you holy or righteous. (all your good deeds are like filthy rags).
only by the covering of Jesus, accepting christ as your saviour makes you acceptable to god. those that do not accept christ go before god to be judged.

Ah...a good old religious post...and quoting the Bible ,not the Koran for a change.
I must watch this program if it has spurred you to this. good actions in life cannot make you holy or righteous....I would tend to disagree with that. Because it seems to me that this is the only advantage of religion....even if you believe in the Jolly Green Giant. Still I will not shake your belief in Jesus, he was a good man himself Jesus, I do see that. |

Is this post perhaps anti Catholic?, that would be a change as well
from the usual Sunni v Shia we have on here(I have no idea of the difference there and care even less) |

I do not see there need be any conflict between Catholicism and Protestantism myself.
I think it is personal choice. Catholicism is a religion for people who want Religion to be involved in their daily lives, and can be full time if people want. They like all the ceremony and everything else. C of E is for those who do not want to do anything at all, attend Church or even believe in God  .But whatever we choose I want to see good actions..giving, helping, understanding, we need more of it in our very materialistic society. |

i is catholic - i know where the bodies are buried? I understand why people want to clump together into tribes. they offer protection. My thinking is that the only protection you need is faith in god. Eternity beckons and eighty years? on earth is minuscule. I believe every man/woman is eternal. spend your time in heaven or hell.
