Grim indeed.

Bravo to the chap that saved the baby, but forever he will have nightmares.
The father had got free apparently but did the noble thing and went down with the car....bravo.

I think you would have to, how could you live after seeing the car go under taking your family with it?

Absolutely horrific situation.

For the father to have gone back in, to refuse to leave his family, shows great love and bravery under the most terrible stress and fear.
As dustybin says it was noble and shows the measure of the man that he was able to think so clearly and beautifully in the moment.

Had my 4yr old sitting on my lap and 13 year old cuddled up to me when that came on the news was tears running down my face unashamedly..

Is that right pa lapsy?
The electrics went and caused the windows to not function?

I know that they'd not have been able to open the car doors until the car filled with water, but staying calm under those circumstances must be practically impossible unless you are trained, made infinitely worse by the fact it was seawater, dirty and cold.

It seems to be from what i read Dustybin and Davitt Walsh who swam out to rescue the baby thought as well.

Something strange about this sad accident. The reports of the sequence of events pose more questions than answers.

Just watched the interview with the man who saved the baby, so vividly and articulately discribing the tragedy. Heartbreaking indeed.

I lived there until last may and used to walk my dog on the beach beside the pier most days. Such a tragic thing to happen in such a lovely spot.

yeh agree with this, ive read reports the kids were out of the car and drowned and ive read other reports saying they were stuck in the car, strangely different

They broke three of the Windows according to one report. But before they could get out , the car nose went down and sunk in 10feet of water.

Just dreadful.

I'll assume nobody is suggesting anything sinister went on.

10ft is enough if you are trapped inside a submerged car with limited time.
