I remember suddenly having about £600 appear in my bank account maybe early 2008 , which was the first i realized they had closed operations.
Yes i think they were taken over but they had to pay the balance back rather than transfer it to the firm from what i recall. |

They actually sent out the We Have Become Concerned About The Nature Of Your Business ... Regret To Inform You ... letter before the Final. Seems incredible in 2016 that a telephone bookmaker would lay a bet of that size on a standout price. No wonder they disappeared. |

I am pretty sure Greece were 300+ on here. Oh bugger. 30 January 2005 was the first day I ever touched a computer. Too late for Euro 2004. Took me way too long to acknowledge that I'd have to learn to use one, and that the days of taking on the opinion of a bookmaker without access to the Betfair tissue were over. No wonder they laid 100/1. Doesn't explain why they were so eager to close the account over it though. |
