What a disgusting piece of filth.

Had only been out of prison three weeks after another police chase.
Had bought and smoked drugs that night.
Was burgling a shop the night he killed Dave Phillips.
Then stole a pick up and drove off in it.
Says he didn't hit him on purpose but knew he had injured him (doing 80mph) but drove off because he was scared.

Lock him up, turn off the cctv, then let Dave Phillips' colleagues go and check on him in his cell.

We've tried and failed, the decent law abiding citizens of this country, since the day capital punishment was abolished..
Its the only punishment that works , and its flawless when it comes to murderers Re-offending .
But the lawyers and barristers don't want it, because criminals earn them tons of money, victims earn them nothing.

The lawyers' charter - We must protect our criminals, they're our bread and butter.
Give them light sentences and get them re-offending and back in court as quickly as possible, kerching!

That's the main problem. A lack of parental control breeds criminals like this.
Hope he gets what he's due when in the jail. Piece of chit.

Wrong on three points:

1) lawyers make a fortune out of victims -- all that lovely compensation
2) lawyers would make a fortune from appeals against death sentences
3) the main reason (apart from its inhumanity) for abolishing hanging was that juries became reluctant to find murderers guilty

He will almost certainly get a whole life term. Killing a police officer is not looked upon with any leniency by the judges. And rightly so.

A teenage car thief accused of deliberately running over and killing a policeman has told his trial he was a "little boy lost" who "needed a cuddle" from his grandmother.

Clayton Williams, 19, said he cried and felt scared and lost after fatally knocking down PC Dave Phillips with a stolen pick-up truck and tried to call his relative Shirley Williams.

The defendant also agreed that following the collision he fled the scene, dumped the vehicle, had a shower at his aunt's house, got rid of his clothes which were burnt and gave his phone away.

Williams had earlier led police on an 80mph chase after stealing a Mitsubishi in a burglary on 5 October last year.

Father-of-two PC Phillips was deploying a stinger device to stop Williams, who allegedly deliberately drove at the policeman using the vehicle as a "weapon" in a "merciless and cowardly act".

Williams denies murdering the officer who was killed almost instantly from "catastrophic" injuries in Wallasey, Merseyside.

He has admitted the burglary where the car was stolen and aggravated vehicle taking.

He told the jury he had no intention of harming anyone but was trying to drive round the stinger spikes when he hit the officer at 50-80mph.

He had been released on licence from jail three weeks earlier after serving half of a nine-month sentence, for leading police on another pursuit in a car and crashing into a lamppost.

Williams said he fled the scene because he feared returning to jail and insisted he did not see PC Phillips crouching to deploy the stinger until the last seconds.

Prosecutor Ian Unsworth QC accused Williams of lying and that the officer was "clearly visible" to him, shown on video footage by a pursuing police car.

Williams said seconds after hitting the officer, he tried to phone his grandmother.

He said: "I just needed someone in my family to cuddle up to."

He continued: "I'm only a young boy. I have not got it in me to take someone's life. You are making me out to be something I'm not.

"I was scared. I needed someone, I needed my nan or someone. It's hard being chased and just come out of jail."

Mr Unsworth asked the defendant why he did not turn himself in.

Williams said: "I didn't know who to contact. At the time I just felt like a lost little boy. I just needed someone to talk to."

The trial continues.

Ramruna  then time to stop appeals by lawyers every case death sentence passed
relooked at by 3 judges .
One question is the correct sentence passed  yes/no
Time to stop the oh he had a poor upbringing and never had a chance
You can make mistakes but you don't keep making mistakes
sometime or another you have to say enough is enough to protect
the victims of crime not the continual re-offenders

Having done jury service twice and when we found this bloke guilty
of ABH AND GBH against 2 women i was shocked to here he had 38 previous convictions
for the same offence he was about 30 years old was on probation suspended sentence etc

And the lawyer was complaining about his lack of a family life
Yes but you have probably stopped 30 people from having a normal life now.

Blimey don't think i have every had a rant like that before must be getting old.

he should get the same punishment that the police get when they kill a member of the public, after all this country is run on the principle that all are equal under the law, except we support a corrupt state and dont believe that principle is true

thread drifting off topic ,think they could not convict of murder because would mean massive implications for Road Traffic law

He drove the vehicle ,he drove at the policeman and killed him ,he is a murderer ,no excuses ,weed dont make people kill ,rather the opposite ,state should stop fannying around  wiping noses and arses and get a fckn grip of bad eggs .

Had just been released ,whatever system is in place it aint tough enough ,he learned nothing and the deterrent was minimal .

Dont agree with cops chasing people through built up areas and too many accidents occur ,sometimes looks like the cops and the crims are playing their own wee game and  public satey is secondary ,has to be better ways to bring these vehicles to a stop ,maybe bollards that pop up out of the road or military drones would be the answer ,vehicle technology could also help ,no doubt would be easier to disable vehicles via  electronic means but having cops chasing stolen vehicles at high speed puts everyone in danger .
Am sure a system of electronic disablement could work ,maybe a drone that could read electronically the system of the vehicle and disable it or use some sort of pulse to fry the electrics will come into play ,sooner the better .But there is no excuses for what occurred ,not social economic  or deprivation or drugs can excuse this ,if anything the wishy washy brigade are to blame ,they created this excuse of a human imo .

i doubt that vote would have taken place ..although is stand to be corrected ,a jury is bound by what is can and cannot do and currently i dont think you can easily be convicted of murder when driving ...stand to be corrected ,BB with keep us right here Grin

General issues of relevance to driving offences
Referral of Fatal Collision/Manslaughter Cases

To ensure consistency of approach, charging decisions in all fatal collision cases should be approved by a Chief Crown Prosecutor (CCP), Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor (DCCP) or nominated senior decision maker (who will have been nominated for this role by their CCP/DCCP).

Where there is evidence that points towards an organisation to which the terms of the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 might apply, prosecutors must refer these cases to the Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division.

Where a prosecutor is of the view that there may be sufficient evidence to warrant full consideration of a charge of gross negligence manslaughter, these cases should be referred to the relevant Complex Casework Unit (see the Homicide: Murder and Manslaughter Guidance).

Top of page
Terminology

When a suspects/defendants manner of driving has resulted in death or serious injury to a victim, the term "fatal collision" or "collision" should be used in all correspondence, conversations at court and in meetings when dealing with these cases. The term "accident" should not be used.

With regard to bringing back "Capital Punishment" ...go and tell that to the "Guildord Four" or the "Birmingham Six"
There's ten innocent people that would have in all probability be hanged by a corrupt English legal system !
