The subject for discussion was children with ADHD and/or A.D.D. (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder/Attention Deficity Disorder)

I was horrified at some of the calls!!
Even with calls from experts in the area, psychologists who both diagnose and treat the symptoms and families that have to live through the every day the calls still came through by soft brained individuals that honestly believe that these mental conditions are made up?

That they are merely an excuse for naughty kids? They say diet is the cause in most, e numbers they say, so what about the symptom that is sensory?? He/she might not be into sweets, sugary stuff and the like, or worse, is that just that your child is naughty in that respect as well, he/she liked it once so will always like that food and so their naughty? Or noise, cos its ok for other kids they wont go into that playground because its too noisy for them but they naughty for not going in?? Or maybe it's touch, maybe walking is uncomfortable, running can be more comfortable for them or they basically just suffer from sore feet/legs, is that just cos their lazy and naughty??? Is it not that kids want to play, want to run, WANT TO KNOW WHEN TO STOP RUNNING COS THEY GET OUT OF BREATH OR  IN WORST CASE SCENARIOS, OVER TIRED THAT THEIR BODIES JUST SHUT DOWN AND THEY PASS OUT???

I would love just one day with these morons! To show them that they ARE wrong!

I dunno maybe if i wasn't too worked up after listening to why they thought the way they did i wasn't that worked up that I could calmly (by some kind of miracle) show them how and why they are wrong to think that way.

RANT OVER!!!!!

It is true pal, it is only when it is so close to home people consider it, i will admit i used to be one of them but its hit me like a ton of bricks!!

When you've watch a child that is abusive and aggressive, but as he is you can see the tears building up and the lip going because he doesn't want to be like he is but just can't stop it, that part of his brain is too over powering!! You personally know that it is mental condition making him/her do these things but outsiders look on giving you the looks.

Breaks my heart mate that people are living like this and there is so little help out there. I spoke with childrens services today about this child, guess what they said, he has to physically do something before they will step in and help his parents with support they so desperately need! His father works away from home and hasn't been to work for 6 months due to this, medication is being trialed but one by one they are failing! 10% of children who trial medication doesn't work or have bad reactions on it!! So basically someone has to be put in hospital before they will act!!!

I am talking about an 8 year old mate!! And it most certainly is not bad parenting, nor is he a bad child!!

Boils my p!ss!!! AngryAngryAngry
