Doctors tell the veteran frontman that if he stays on the road he risks total hearing loss
The band – due to perform in the UK and Europe this summer – have postponed the remaining 10 dates of their US tour, though the band say they “will be made up later in the year, likely with a guest vocalist”. What happens after that is uncertain, though tour dates through to 12 June are still listed on their website.

Terrible news, truly the end of an Era. Cry

It was the end when Bon Scott died.
Report trilby22 • March 8, 2016 10:24 PM GMT
^ flushgordon1 knows.

It most certainly was all over when Phil had the murder rap & Malc had to quit.

There will be many other "youngsters" who grew up with the band and their folks will fork out £100 for a ticket but yes, stickyvicky, the AC/DC show is now over.

I'd like to see Angus and Cliff start something new ... that would be a proper tribute to Bon!

A likeable man. Maybe we can see a bit more now of him doing his 'Cars That Rock' programmes?

Let's take this chance to enjoy these 2 different versions of 'You Shook Me All Night Long", and the videos.

ive seen plenty of good tribute acts on ac/dc. Live Wire top the lot. Think its the end of the road for ac/dc after reading about Brian. What a great rock band though. Live at River Plate in Buenos Aires will never be beat with that crowd.

First time I saw DC was in the Edinburgh Playhouse on the For Those About To Rock tour.  Man, those cannons were loud indoors, as was Brian swinging on the Bell!

First got into them when I heard A Touch Too Much on the radio in '79(?)

Have a ticket for the show at the Etihad in June and if Celine Dion walks out on stage, permission is given to shot me there and then.Sad

' ......To be a rock and not to roll.....'

Saw Led Zeppelin live in Jan 1970 and again in June at Bath Festival ( along with Pink Floyd ,Johnny Winter,Santana,Steppenwolf -and Frank Zappa - to name a few). The year before saw many bands, highlight was Isle Of Wight Festival - with Hendrix, The Who, Dylan etc.
Most recent concert was to see one of my rock heros Neil Young with Crazy Horse. Hoping to see another  hero, Springsteen this year. Sadly my third died in January ( Bowie) . Regretfully I never got to see him play live.

' .....Rock and roll will never die .....'     Happy

One of the top 5 gigs in my history was seeing AC/DC live, a big group of us all of their tits rocking away, absolutely brilliant they were.
Report trilby22 • March 10, 2016 8:46 PM GMT
Brian was a replacement for Bon & that's about it.  What would the lad from Nazareth - Dan McCafferty https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_McCafferty have done handed the gig?

Back In Black has some great tracks and is one of the greatest "comeback" albums of all time.

Let Me Put My Love Into You is one of the greatest ever rock songs of all time.

Rock N Roll Ain't Noise Pollution is a close 2nd from BIB and Hells Bells gets the bronze.

I lost touch with DC after that but the For Those About To Rock album has a few decent tracks.

Who do ye all think might be the stand in singer ? I'd go with one of the big tribute bands singers myself but others suggesting maybe Rob Halford of Judas Priest. Might be a bit too YMCA tho.

Black Star Riders have heard of them but never saw them and I'm a big Lizzy fan too. If you think so, I bow to your superior knowledge.

It's only a wild stab in the dark, sticky.  Will be interesting to see whether he's approached -I reckon he'd do a braw job.

Here's 80mins worth of the BSR's rom Germany last year - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZ1PwVnhzdU

Close your eyes and you can almost hear Phil!

I only had the great pleasure of seeing Lizzy live once - in Glasgow on their Live & Dangerous 30th anniversary tour.  John Sykes was on vocals (I think!) and the way he emulated Phil was quite sublime!  I'll see if I can find a link later.

Only saw them live once myself with the Great man up front on the Thunder and Lightening tour 1983, giving  my age away there. Remember Phil blinding me and everyone else with the spot light reflecting from the mirror on his bass as he shone it into the crowd, brilliant and I was in the middle of the crowd, those up front must be totally blind now, would not get away with that these days. Under rated front man always had the crowd in the palm of his hands, with his 'Are you still out there' and other catch phrases, Cool
