I watched the whole race, proper sporting drama. Best piece of sport I have seen since Ben Stokes went mental at Cape Town.

Yes, it was brilliant, Rob.
God knows what that commentator pillock was on about about 15 laps from the finish who said they couldn't win. He was confusing things more than they should have been confused by. |

I missed the comm saying that. I remember watching in Beijing and the comms kept saying we could still win it and we were still odds on on betfair yet I thought we were toast and laid us. Unfortunately I won. Shame it isnt in the olympics.

What event is wiggo going for at Rio? Just the team pursuit? I was thinking of backing him for spoty, but gold in a team event won't do it. Individual pursuit not an event any more alas.

Assume he will defend his tine trial title?
Tony Martin has form and is likely to be one of the favourites so Sir Brad will have to watch his back. |

Wiggins will just do the Team pursuit in Rio. He's quit the road, so no chance of him doing the TT. Rio TT course is quite hilly, so Wiggins with his track fat would have no chance.
Might be a bit hilly for Tony Martin's liking as well. |

I have a bad case of liking Laura Trott too much

Think the road race is too hilly for Cav too which is why when he didnt win gold in London he thought the game was up regards ever winning an olympic gold. Think he has a small chance on the track now, is it omnium he is trying to get selected in?

UK's best chance of a medal in the road race probably comes from Froome, Yatesx2 or Thomas. From what I've seen/heard of the course it looks like it'll be too hard for the puncheur's let alone pure sprinters.
Cavendish will be going for the Omnium, but he has quite a bit of competition from Clancy & Dibben. Also a very small chance if he goes he might be the back up team pursuit rider. |
