It needs wifi, so kind of if you make your laptop go into a wifi reciever mode
But you can do that, search for
turning laptop into a hotspot (or router)
and you'll see.

Does your phone have wifi? If you can set your laptop up as a hotspot/router and connect to it with your phone, you can probably get it to work. But it needs a fair bit of bandwidth so you'd have to watch your data if that's an issue.

If you have a phone that does wifi or another laptop or tablet with wifi, you could test it all now.

What are you getting it for? I've had a play with both and if it's just for free stuff (iPlayer etc) then I preferred the Now TV box you can get for £15 new. And it does 4od, the amazon one currently doesnt.

seems right moneytree, i have just checked about on google and it seems the firesticks are ok if you have unlimited data.

from what i gather it can use as much as 1gb per hour SadSad  which at that rate it wouldnt take long to use my monthly

allowance. ( 5gb ).   thanks for your help lads.
