Does anyone work for the post office and/or have specialist knowledge about postage?

Today I signed for a letter which should have enclosed badges for the Racegoers Club marquee. I signed at the door and then took the envelope inside and then open one end and found that there were no badges but a slit ( big enough to get the badges out ) the other end of the envelope.

On seeing this I caught up with the post woman who took the envelope off me and said someone from the office would ring me. I heard nothing. It has suddenly dawn on me trhat having signed the PO probably think they are absolved of responsibility. Could do w/o this so close to the Festival.

Any thoughts or  advice with dealing with the PO and what if any my rights are ? having been to the sorting office in the past I must say they do not seem... how do I put this ...the most  customer focused bunch I've ever met.

Signed, sealed and delivered. If you ordered them through the course they will have the numbers of the tickets, but i cant see that helping.

To begin with, Royal Mail is a totally different company from the Post Office.

Royal Mail is a very easy target eg (I should have had this parcel 5 days ago - sorry Sir look at the date stamp it was only posted yesterday).

Recently there has been the odd envelopes with the side perfectly sliced open. It might be the Royal Mail sorting machines or the mechanised stuffers at the senders end. My feeling is that the issue lies with the sender. I would call the people who sent the badges and explain the situation and if no result go to the local Royal Mail depot and ask for a manager - take the recorded envelope.

Good luck

You should ring them - they'll open an investigation.
You'll probably have to be transferred a few times to get to that stage!

I've found them surprisingly helpful in the past on the phone

I think you might of been better of keeping what was delivered though
than giving it back to the P/Man
