Clearing out a lot of stuff here, and everything going onto e-bay and "Gumtree".

Just got a text asking is my advertise furniture still for sale and if so e-mail me asap with the price!

Like a tw@t I did as still wet behind the ears with this stuff.

I know both ebay and Gumtree filter all communications through their site but, to what have I potentially exposed myself ?

Constructive answers would be appreciated, though I know to expect 50% black humour

Paying by Paypal and then claiming not to have received goods is one way, RR.

Why be so tight? If you have no further use for it, give it to charity.

This to me from my bike ad on "Gumtree"

This 'person' asked if I still have the bike and this is what followed....

Hi Julia,
Yes I do as only posted today.
Come back to me if I can offer any more information
Kind regards,

Great! please consider it sold and please cancel every other appointment regarding it as i am willing to pay your full asking price because i need to buy it for my cousin as a gift,
i have read through the advert and I'm totally satisfied with it,sadly i would not be able to come personally to collect due to my hearing loss and me being in wheelchair.
I have a courier agent that would help me to pick it up at your preferred location after you have received your money and i'll pay you via PayPal.
Where is the pick up location so that i can inform the courier agent about it now?

Thank you Julia,
I fully understand what you say as I too am extremely deaf and, though not in a wheelchair  I suffer with Peripheral Neuropathy
which is very debilitating.
It's a pity that we can't meet, because you sound really nice, but could you send me a photo of yourself, perhaps in a bikini or similar.
If you let me know where you are I may be able to deliver it to you personally and then you can give me cash for it.
Also I have to apologise that, somehow, I put the wrong price in the ad and it should be £275.00.
A girl is coming with her dad this afternoon and she is quite happy to pay me that price.
If she doesn't buy it I will get straight back to you.

Regards,

How the **** are people so naive ast fall into this sort of thing?

There are even some on here who question my view but, then again, we are always taking the p!ss out of each other, so I guess we have to accept that!
Report Ron-Russian • February 21, 2016 3:49 PM GMT
as i said Mikael - surely furniture would be a collection,
& pay on delivery? you would think.

sounds like the girls got it in for you AP, are you sure you haven't
unknowingly cut her up in her wheelchair - or done something to annoy her!

Yes Ron, and as I said they can pay by Paypal, collect the item then claim to have received nothing.

I've bought stuff that was 'collection only' and the sellers have insisted on Paypal. Many think it offers them protection, which it usually does of course. I even told one seller once that they were exposing themselves to fraudulent claims but they looked at me like I'd asked them for their cashcard and PIN!

Well, somehow it must pay, or surely the tw@ts would have given up.

It also seems that, even the serial offenders are allowed to continue, despite complaints to the sites.

The Autotrader one is a big example, where people are offering "high end" models, at bargain prices, using photos of cars they don't own.

Always accompanied by some ludicrous story, about wanting to sell the car, which is currently in Spain, to the UK as it is RH drive!

Considering that they have to stump up £25.00, to list the ad, it must be profitable or they wouldn't continue!

You'd be better off giving the stuff away for free,
it sounds like its to stressful for you - more agg than it's worth.

If you decide to do that whens a suitable time to pop round and

As has been said, for smallish amounts of money always go cash on collection.

The more elaborate the story the more likely its a con.

Its amazing how many ads are a con.  They often copy another ad.....saw one the other day £10'000 cheaper than the real ad.  If I'm in the mood I'll report a few of the ****s.

Well I never! AP exposed himself. FFS he'll be shopping in poundland next.

I understand why being wheelchair bound might stop you from being able to come and collect, but how does being deaf stop them? Have deaf people been banned from driving?
Report Emden • February 21, 2016 10:37 PM GMT
The deaf woman in a wheelchair is legit - she's bought stuff off me.
