LOL The man who opens with "Scaremongering. They did exactly the same thing in the Scottish referendum and all the old farts and half wits fell for it." - Tries to take the moral high ground. THEN as knows he'll lose every single argument about the case for independence if he goes that way, as it would have ruined Scotland, and even though he's just said that half wits voted against it when those very people have been proved right, he avoids it completely and starts trying to pick up spelling mistakes. Classic internet poor loser behaviour.

It truly is amazing isn't it?

Even to those with only a vague interest in the Referendum and the political manoeuvring surrounding it, the level of negative campaigning from the 'In' group is overwhelming.

Economically, the précis position seems to be 'the markets don't like change, therefore let's not change'. With the added rider that 'the 'outers' can't tell us what will replace the current situation'.

The 'outers' have, in fact, postulated any number of scenarios that politicians - and remember politicians serve US and we will deliver the mandate to which they will work in June, irrespective of their current position on EEC membership - will have to get on and negotiate after a Brexit.

Of course, the 'In' campaign are remaining very quiet on the other key issue of Immigration.

With Schengen now a busted flush, the cobbled-together EEC reaction, such as it is, seems now to be 'make Turkey deal with it at source' with the 'closing the stable door after the horse has bolted' notion (as of this week) appearing to be a wholly impractical 'one in, one out' approach to migrants

Good luck with that project, especially if the price the EEC may have to pay for this complete mismanagement is EEC membership for Turkey (with their appalling human rights record and largely Muslim population).

they have a get out of jail card.....they have to put eea membership to us as a refferendum or decide themselves.

the only difefrence between the eu and eea is farming and fishing decisions.
so shouldnt they have put it down as both in the refferendum.

with the market having reacted to the possibility of brexit....i smell a big dirty rat.

if the eea decision wont be put to us...the odds are the markets recover.

The French government has slapped down suggestions that, after Brexit, they will scrap a deal with the UK placing border checks in France and insuring illegal migrants are not waved across the English Channel.
Under a bilateral treaty signed in 2003, known as the Le Touquet accord, British officials can check passports in France and vice-versa.

During the referendum campaign, however, David Cameron suggested the deal could be scrapped, bring the illegal migrant camps from Calais to Kent. He was accused of “scaremongering” and “project fear”.

“But the border is where it is… there are bilateral agreements that are very important…” said French foreign minister, Jean-Marc Ayrault, this Friday when asked about the possibility of ending Le Touquet.

“Would that also mean putting in place boats for people who otherwise risk drowning? I think we should be serious,” he added in an interview publish on a government website.

The Le Touquet accord was made independently of the European Union (EU), between the British and French governments.

Illegal migrants trying to enter Britain are kept in Europe, with many choosing to stay in the ‘Jungle’ camp from where they launch clandestine attempts to enter the UK in the back of lorries or hidden in ferries.

Following Mr. Ayrault’s instant dismissal of the prospect of scrapping this system, a spokesman for the government, Stéphane Le Foll, reaffirmed the French government’s position.

“The output of the United Kingdom of the European Union does not modify the Franco-British bilateral treaties on immigration,” he told Le Figaro on Friday.

Despite the government’s clear position, the Mayor of Calais and other local politicians have said they want Le Touquet reconsidered.

“The British people have chosen to take back their freedom, they must take back their borders,” Xavier Bertrand, head of the Hauts-de-France region that includes the Calais camp, told the Telegraph.
