Pop it in your neighbours bin.

I don`t want to try that leopard, might there be money to be made in offering to sort peoples rubbish, for a small fee. |

Just let it mount up for decades. By 2036 a minor channel will be along with some 'experts' and fame-hungry volunteers to clean the lot up and make your life a whole lot better.
If you could develop a suspicion of the modern world and an eating disorder in the meantime, you'll become a minor star yourself. |

must be thousands of elderly people who would pay 5 pounds not to have the trouble of this nonsense
By:
I would be prepared to just let the rubbish build up in my front garden if I only had to worry about the neighbours though of me, but there are other family members who I don`t want to shame
By:
the neighbours though of me
"what the neighbours thought of me" ....surely ! |
By:
If I was to offer people the chance just to through their rubbish into any bin and I would come around once a week and sort it for them for a fee would this be a viable business?
By:
Joking aside (and judging by the number of LOLs my earlier post garnered, I'm a hoot), the elderly are not big consumers in the modern sense and so I'd imagine they have little difficulty in fitting their rubbish in the council provided bins.
Also, if you're going to try and make a business of waste disposal, where are you going to put it? To make it economical you'd need a big vehicle and councils charge for those to empty out at their disposal units. Not saying it ain't a goer, but I doubt you're the first to have had this thunderbolt and so........ |
By:
no Desmond, I would put peoples rubbish in their own bins and the council could collect it
By:
the elderly and the people who can`t be bothered would pay me...and the council would have to take it away for me for free
By:
I would just leave it out on the pavement on the requisite day and wave to the binmen as they take it away
By:
Last time I went to Liverpool there was sh1te everywhere. Looked like nobody had even heard of a bin.
By:
Sorry, I misunderstood. So you're going to sort peoples rubbish for them and put it in their own bins? What will they do with it in the meantime?
I've got an idea AND it would make your life easier? Provide different coloured receptacles that they could put the different types of rubbish in ready for you! Oh....hang on..... |
By:
quite possible to do 1000 households a week, at say £5 a house per week, that adds up to £5000 pounds.
By:
no Desmond the household puts their rubbish into any bin, once a week I come around and sort the rubbish into the correct bin
By:
either myself or the owner can then wheel the bin out to the pavement to be collected...there would be no charge for wheeling the bin
By:
I think you might struggle to find a 1000 households in a close enough geographical area for you to be able to sort each bin out in around around 2:30 each, including moving between the houses. I admire your ambition and there is an old saying that 'where there's much there's brass' but I don't see this generating more income for you than the average brain surgeon manages. Particularly as there is the obvious difficulty of finding enough people to pay £5 for a service that they presumably are doing for themselves currently.
By:
I make that £20,000 a month
By:
should imagine it would be possible to find 1 million households UKwide, £5 a household is really chickenfeed for such a service
By:
that would be £5 million pounds a week
By:
Never mind farting about with foraging around in peoples festering stinking rubbish!
Franchise is the way to go. Divide the country into manageable areas, and provide a bike, a map, and some rubber gloves, at £36k a pop. |
By:
Why stop there?
They have rubbish abroad. Go global. How about 100 million households? With turnover of £26billion you'll soon be propping up the FTSE. I can see you on the front page of Forbes, strapline 'The Sultan of Sh1te'. |

Also, check out Stows Wombling thread.
I see some synergy here that with a bit of blue sky thinking could open up some previously untapped revenue streams. Low hanging fruit, my friend, low hanging fruit. |

I never recycle anything.
They delivered the coloured containers and I use them for storage. I simply put everything in the wheelie bin. It's far less trouble. |
