excuse me if I seem a bit thick but all this about the price of oil is bad for us I just cannot understand that at all.
I have a mate who is a self employed courier driver and is now 70 quid a week better off or three and a half grand a year better of now with the cheaper diesel that's some wage increase.Putting more money in his pocket.
To spend on whatever or wherever he wants now surely that's good for the economy.

Oil prices are determined by the supply and demand for petroleum-based products. During an economic expansion, prices might rise as a result of increased consumption. Low consumption is considered a sign of weak global demand, i.e economic contraction. In economic contractions, companies make less profit and their resulting forward looking value on the stock markets fall.

How much do the government and oil companies( and associated industries)  lose because of lower oil price though?

I like the low oil price because it makes the Arab oil producers weaker......then they will have to stop buying up half of England !
