Entry to USA from UK. I am a UK passport holder. Someone has told me my passport needs 6 months validity on it from the day I leave the USA (which it won't) but all I can find is it just needs to be in date up until I leave USA. I need an ESTA which I understand but the passport thing?

Anyone know the score with this?

TIA

isn't it one of the conditions of becoming ESTA-approved?

Entry requirements

Passport validity

Your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. You don’t need any additional period of validity on your passport beyond this.

US immigration officials will accept British passports extended by 12 months by British Embassies and Consulates under exceptional measures put in place in mid-2014, but you will need to apply for a visa from the nearest US Embassy or Consulate before travelling.
