Dave has not been able to fulfill any of his party's manifesto pledges regarding the EU and is yet to realise the concept of the EU is not and never will be a success.

Le Monde: “It’s all a sham”
Arnaud Leparmentier  of French Daily Le Monde comments on the deal, “The show can begin. David Cameron’s match against the Europeans, to persuade the Brits to stay in the EU, gets under way…It’s a match, of course. But it’s a wrestling match. It’s all a sham. [People] pretend to be in pain, but they are complicit. One makes noise, but one doesn’t solve anything in substance…This wrestling match must flatter the Brits’ pride, so that they are persuaded not to choose the open sea.”

Discontent deepened when Brussels officials indicated that a so-called “emergency brake” on benefit claims by EU migrants could take 18 months to come into force.

It was revealed that the European Parliament could rip up the plan after Britain’s EU referendum if the country votes to stay tied to Brussels.

I expect that view will be widely held on the continent Burton. Most British people will be scratching their knackers asking what time the latest reality programme starts?

From the comments of the group leaders in the chamber it was not difficult to ascertain that in two weeks time Mr. Cameron can get very little more. In fact a close examination of the debate made me wonder whether even this deal would be ratified.
Why do I say this? Well, a paper issued to me as Co-Chairman of one of the seven parliamentary groups makes it clear that the European Parliament believes that social benefits and free movement will be changed for the British using an ordinary legislative procedure.
In English that means that it will need the approval of a majority of 751 MEPs.
The first to spot this was the eagle-eyes William The Earl of Dartmouth, a long-serving UKIP MEP from the South West.
William asked a question of Rebecca Harms leader of the Greens in the Parliament. He asked whether her group would support the proposed British deal. The answer was pretty clear: no.
So the implications are that Mr. Cameron could win a referendum on the terms of this deal for it then to subsequently be struck down

David Cameron was hoping to pull a rabbit out of the hat but he didn’t even have a hat to produce, never mind a rabbit!

He got a so-called “emergency brake” which he can’t pull without permission – which is not much use in an emergency.
What we really need is a car where we're in control of the steering wheel.
That's not on offer in this referendum, so let's forget the useless brake and hit the ejector seat.

Proposals mean jack sh1te anyway, most of this wont get ratified & the fact that anything wont get ratified till after the referendum tells you everything you need to know really.

Just to add the Titanic never had  holes in it, all it had was one gigantic gash, which basically sums up this deal to be honest.

He's also said we wouldn't be involved in any bail-out. Again, nothing new. (We did help Ireland but that was out of choice and I suspect we'd have done so whether we were in or out.)
Report mobo • February 20, 2016 1:01 PM GMT
it is interesting  but are we not still involved in bail outs - ie  - banks are linked internationally to prop up currencies/banks/countries???  regardless of whether we are in the eurozone???
