that has meant the twunts sitting in pairs (never more than 2 because only THEY can tolerate each other), have nowhere else to go and so have proliferated on what was once a reasonable, pleasantish forum, thus frightening most of the reasonable, pleasantish people away?

As you will all recognise this description as being someone else, I wouldn't expect much argument.

Are you on about the anti-muslim stuff?

I'm on about loads of repetitive crap instead of chit-chat.
I'm on about righteous indignation, politicking and a few arseoles.
Mostly I'm on about how little recognisable this forum is compared with how it was.

I realise that the changes made to it, the wholesale culling of contributors by BF and the non-ability to gain new members in any rush don't help.
But, I know a few people from and on here (in real life) and they all say how crap it is now and a major reason is that some of the people who use the forum the most, sort of spoil it.

Instead of spending hours on here, pouring through threads, joining in banter, arguing (not political btw), new threads appearing all the time, quizzes, people asking questions and just plain funny stuff, it is a quick browse when bored.

That's what I'm on about.

And I'm writing it instead of spending time enjoying the forum. Which kind of proves my point - to me anyway.

Totally agree, studyform.

I used to love the forum, most of the time. It was funny and informative, even though it could be horrible.

Totally agree as well, it is a forum that I just do not recognise anymore. Everyone helping each other about various subjects and was always a very useful place to get advice about things and places that you don't know about but I hardly bother much these days. Just a quick look every now and then but hardly contribute much now. It used to be a great place Sad

You have to realise that we are in the most depressing time of the year......it is winter but we have no snow......very little sunshine......too much rain due to the jet stream higher north than normal.....we are all suffering from S.A.D. to varying degrees.....things will get better as we move in to spring.

It's not what it was.  Lawyers?  The grim reaper?  The iron chains of real life that bind posters?  Growing old?  Other, more recent, addictions?  But the ragged remnants are worth support.  Until the end.  It can still astound and make you laugh out loud.

I certainly think the law has something to do with it.  I used to be astounded regularly by the posts on here! Now posters  are mindful of being barred or worse.

Not ... quite - I've been able to post "challenging" stuff that held until someone went over the edge of reason.  There are very many things you - I - can say about muslims without triggering oblivion.  The extremists are mad dogs that need burial.  There we go.

in fairness as someone posted on another thread we don't get cats up
trees anymore, near everything is muslim related, we're brainwashed with muslim
news non stop, on the net, in the papers, on the tv news,

then we have lefties making ridiculous decision to wind people up even more.

it's bound to have an effect on forums shirly?
