Unless you know you have something quite rare then probably not.

It never stopped being collectible, it's just become trendy to own once more so I guess it's 'more' collectible. As for what you own, it's unsurprisingly the rare stuff that's worth owt. You're looking for stuff on different labels, or a rare sleeve, or the ultra-rare stereo/mono version of a classic.

I'll take the lot off you for a score.

Hmmm. Judging by the titles etc. I have serious concerns over the condition of the discs. Do they have a lot of little 'pops' and 'clicks' as the stylus traverses the evidence of the hot ash burns??

I once sold a Pink Floyd 'Wish you were here' LP to a Russian collector for £120 on ebay. I'd bought it when it was released in the 80's and hadn't opened the plastic wrapping until just before selling, because I had to check what pressing it was. If it had been a first pressing it could have got £400+

I bought it in my late teens, so about 1981/2 maybe. The point is, it was still sealed and unplayed, which I made a big deal of in my ebay ad.

I stumbled across a genunie copy of The Soundhouse Tapes by Iron Maiden , one of the holy grail types for collectors due to it's rarity.

Bought it for a pound and sold it for £550.

There's a guy on here who knows his stuff hopefully he'll post.   Think rule one is if it is not mint, and you've heard of it, it's worthless.
By:

type them in ebay and find out

morpteh - Primal Scream a good illustration - a mint copy of the All Fall Down single (assuming that's what you have) is worth about a Tenner.

the most valuable ones will  be  anything by Showaddywaddy  and quite a few Bay City Rollers albums ,provided their not too dog eared  - fetching a fortune at boot sales.

Folk were fighting over one at a recent sale.

TheChaser's Ebay advice is very sound. Remember not to get carried away with the values realised by mint and/or first pressings which can be FIFTY times and more the value of an average or poor copy.

also dont get excited when you see buy it now £500 , look for auctions as that the realistic values

Fighting to see who could smash it into a million pieces no doubt.
I had about 50 mainly Stones and the Beatles. worth about a hundred.
Gave them to a relative for a shop display.

1. The Quarrymen, 'That'll Be The Day/In Spite Of All The Danger'. Yep, the same record as Number 2, but this is the 1958 original. It's the only known copy of the pre-Beatles disc recorded at a local electrical shop by McCartney, Lennon and Harrison with drummer Colin Hanton and pianist John Duff Lowe. It's worth an estimated £100,000.
