Unfortunately ...it's the World we live in today !
Funnily enough...when I turn on the telly in the morning - never watch BBC News (politically leftie controlled cr ap)
I go to Sky News ...breastfeeding in Tesco or other cr ap ..so on to AL JAZEERA to much mussie stuff
so end up with RT (Russian TV) for World News.

I don't watch what i bet on anymore, so depressing, last minute goals, fallers at the last fence and snicks behind the wicket given not out because the fcking Indians refuse to use DRS.Just look at the figure in the top right corner slowly but surely being diminished each and every daySad

I think what's happened is called evolution ...

Cats have become a lot smarter and no longer get stuck in trees and need to be rescued, no longer any pools winners 'cos we're all on here winning, all kids are straight A students so when somebody in local village gets a double first then that's only to be expected.

Only exceptional items that are newsworthy these days are those poor young men from muslim countries whose only wish is to come into UK to kill us and can't always get in or when they do they have tohave a red door.

Shame there isn't a 'Good News' thread on here where we could all post little happy bits of news, if we could find any that is.

We should count our selves lucky that we do not have the bad news from every planet with intelligent life on in the Galaxy.

The 1020 year war on Aldeberan 9 ......  very nasty !

It's all lies anyway, the real extent of whats going on are hidden, you need to hunt on the internet if you want the truth.

The news (particularly the BBC) seems to have an awful lot of stuff on it about things wrong with people, ie. suffering from this or that.

bit of a news junkie myself.bbc news channel.al jazeera and rt
tend to mostly watch al jazeera as it seems better balanced in its reporting of world affairs
some good reporters and excellent documentaries on there too

Me neither! I stopped reading and watching news about two weeks ago. Best decision ever, well ok maybe not the best ever, but a good decision for me I think. It has improved my mood, and given me loads of extra time for more important stuff. I do want to know a little about what is happening in the world, but there's just no need for me to be updated daily. Monthly or bimonthly would suit me better. I can't think of any news item at all last year that required my immediate attention. The few things I found important I could have found out about in another way than to read and watch news every day. Nothing urgent about them. If world war 3 broke out someone would tell me I think. Actually people like to tell me more news than I want to hear about, and I've overheard some "news" in the last two weeks. Like that snowstorm on a faraway continent that Foinavon mentioned (I kind of expect it to be bad weather somewhere in the world pretty much every week).

Thanks for letting me know Twizzle, and may he rest in peace, but I had to google who he was. No - I haven't been living under a rock for decades, just a couple of weeks. It's just that I'm Swedish, and he wasn't very famous here.

It was nice when there used to be no news from Sweden, nothing to worry about in that beautiful country.

As nice a guy as he was BBC news been running Terry Wogans death as a main headline for nearly 2 days ... it's the same with self promotion - headlines on the BBC NEWS website a couple of weeks ago was Grant Mitchell returning to Eastenders as though it's of national significance.
