John Wayne never went to war - Audie Murphy did. Wayne was lambasted by his friend John Ford for avoiding the draft because his career would suffer. Before the war Wayne's career was mainly B picture fare. A lot of the big stars went into the forces. Stewart, Gable, Garfield and others. Leslie Howard died in the war. Wayne's career blossomed playing tough army heroes urging other men up the hill. a blow hard. So wayne might have endorsed Trump. Same blow hard speeches.

assuming the quote is accurate and he was a white supremacist, wouldn't that make him a democratic party supporter? ie kkk, jim crow, civil war, black re-plantationism etc

some erudite chit chatters have given much thought and time on previous threads to correct use of of/have, spelling and apostrophes ... I'm thinking especially of the much loved Do Wah Diddy, who is no longer with us ... banned apparently for excessive use of capitals without good cause. Surely we owe it to him to continue the good fight.  |
