It's the latest thinking by Tesco, I'm told.
They're going to reduce skus from 90,000 to 70,000 to reduce logistics costs. The cunning plan is to ship each particular stock item to only 1 store. They have 3,500 stores in the UK so each store will have around 20 stock items available. This is why there was a whole aisle of twiglets ... Perth is the store that gets them for the UK. If you want crisps, you're going to have to travel to Norwich, etc BTW, they have employed a team of leading management consultants to help them to simplify their product range. I used to work for a leading mgt consultancy (honest) and this is the sort of spiffing idea that leading management consultants come up with. If Tesco thought they were in the sh1t having posted a £6.4 bn loss in 2015, they've seen nothing yet ... let me at 'em ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I guess we can safely put you in the anti-marmite camp then, blackestnight
![]() Tesco could be shooting themselves in the foot here as I'm stocking up on their mini twiglets and I could soon be Perthshire's main supplier. Anyone want some? £1 per drum + p&p. |
