Was quite enjoyable and perfect for Neeson obviously but basically a modern day take off of Road to Perdition which was different class.

Tom Hanks was good in that.

Kind of. I guess the test of how good a film is would partly depend on your memories of the film. Road To Perdition slightly sailed under the radar for me at the time despite being reasonably popular but I remember so much about that film. I liked the Neeson film but it didn't leave such a lasting impression but one major difference is that in RTP Newman's character unleashes the reckoning but in RAN Harris' character is the reckoning. But yes they are similar but don't you find that many films contain similar themes?

Well it was identical to Road to Perdition except Tom Hanks wasn't a drunk; he wasn't estranged from his son or living on his own and on his arse, and Neeson hadn't just lost his wife and other son. And i don't seem to recall Neeson robbing the mobs money either.. There's only so many stories ye can do about the mob tbph..

YEs plenty of films do I guess,maybe because I thought RTP was very good I looked down on RAN a bit,but it sort of seemed to me that after the relative successful formula of the Taken films in looking for a similar vehicle for Neeson it was an easy cop out to more or less copy RTP,it seemed pretty obvious from early on in RAN that the storylines/outcome were going to be very similar,nice easy viewing though.

Well we agree on Neeson. And once again there's only so much ye can do with a one-trick pony.

The one where the daughter has just passed her driving test and all of a sudden is performing handbrake turns and the like to out rally the mob around narrow streets is hilarious.

I remember watching Charlie's Angels, tv series. Two drug gangs anchored their boats parallel to each other, about 25 yards apart, partaking in their own little private war.

Along comes the Angels, with Bosley at the helm and they stop their boat between them. The Angels and Bos hang over the sides of the boat, point their hand guns at the gangsters and yell "FREEZE"!

The gangsters stop firing and start throwing their semi automatics, rocket launchers, bazookas, etc into the water and surrender.

Charlies Angels you gotta love them

Good film, a very solid 7.5/10 job.
