Just getting a thread ready for the next one,  it's been  long overdue, as I don't think one has died within the last  24 hours.

That rings a bell actually, jolly. As to your last point, I also seem to remember he (or is it she?) was very outspoken in support of Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses when he received the fatwa. Makes me want to puke, now I think about it.

Breaking News ... from the BBC ...

Mr Famous Person, who we reported had died peacefully in his sleep with his family around him after a short/long illness and was loved by all who knew him has not died.  He was pronounced NOT DEAD by a doctor who has attended many celebrities deaths; the doctor said that the famous person had got pi$$ed and fell asleep, and when his family couldn't wake him, they called 111 who said he must be dead.

The family is said to be devastated at his not passing.SadSadSad

I was in tears when I heard. It's one of those moments when everyone will remember where they were and what they were doing when they heard the sad news. I'm looking forward to the tribute programmes dominating the news bulletins for the next week and will flip channels so I see them all.

He was a shrewd gambler with a sense of humour who knew his time was coming..

He had done himself in a double with Aaron Ramsey to score.

Family members of the departed are said to be in 'deep shock'. Not only for  their loved one  but also for the emerging news that the deceased  and model Jerry Hall  were married in secret just days earlier.

i think we've all got our wires crossed here. i got this off the bbc website

we can confirm that earlier reports of the death of a much loved celebrity who was subsequently accused of being a paedophile were incorrect. unfortunately a different celeb (who had recently got married to jerry hall) on hearing the false report about the death of his close friend did in fact die of a heart attack. we will update this breaking news story in course.

This also leads to people leaving flowers all over the place.

Bowie appeared years ago in a pub in Beckenham where I live, it's now a pizza restaurant, there are hundred of bouquets outside dedicated to the Starman.
