Exactly casemoney, people think that these two institutions are different, they are incestuous on many levels, and it only begins to explain the the self propagation, of these institutions.

How many extra 'lords' were introduced in the last few years. FFS. Just one example of 'pay back' for services rendered to and for vested interests.

It's never been any different. Those in high places make the laws to keep the plebs in check.
They don't think the laws apply to them.
They always look after their own.

i have theory - well wid guess with no supporting information - that the security services know just about everything about all our "celebrities", VIPs., politicos etc, and that they allow them to evade the law when it suits ...

Royal family members
some politicians
some celebs
some newspaper people

Not all though, as Rolf Harris was really irritating and better behind bars.
Jimmy Savile, on the other hand, was connected with Royals and politicians and Police and was allowed to do whatever he did for years.

But just a wild and unsubstantiated guess by me.
I suppose I'm just being silly.

The function of the law is not to provide justice or to preserve freedom.
The function of the law is to keep those who hold power, in power.

It's not just those in high places protecting their own.
It's also people in lower positions protecting themselves and their jobs.

We've seen many examples of how the NHS gags its staff over poor practise and blunders.
That' why appalling stuff keeps happening.

Open your mouth and you're out!

We need to curb the lawyers who can too easily manipulate the legal system to protect the guilty.

Janner got away with it by losing his marbles then dying. It is a shame because his victims were denied their day in court which means their evidence was never tested to see if they really were victims or just chancers -- or more likely a mixture of both.

I have said this before Britain is one of the most corrupt countries in the world.
To quote myself from a post a few years ago.
Everything from our MPs expense claims, and business people using accountants to dodge paying their correct amount of tax, to our claims culture and benefit fraud.
Everybody is trying to screw the system.

Sat in a sauna earlier with a fell who supported the doctors getting more money as he worked in a hospital and had just done an extra shift because of the strike last week. All well and good but when hesaid later that he ahd all his savings ofshore to limit his tax I nearly smacked the hypocritical eejit.Where does he  think the money comes from to pay for the NHS money tree ?

Hatton Garden Heist leader 'found sick pics of Tory child abuser' in 1971 raid
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/hatton-garden-heist-leader-found-7196229

1971 is an awfully long time ago. There may be nothing more to this than an old lag getting beer money from a gullible Mirror hack.

Why so surprised. A fair %age of peep at every level corrupt.
At the lower level it's the lead off the church roof or a tv at the riots.
All a matter of proportion really.
