Got two packs from different sources.
Superbly packed and presented with 80 in each. £2.18 and £2.52 including delivery. That is ridiculously cheap! |

You can get Cannabis joss sticks nowadays - you could leave the packet out and just tell people that you like the smell................

i think it's frowned upon in the bible.... incense was used by the rabbi when in temple. so it belongs to the priests/temple.
air freshner? |

That reminds me...
I remember getting annoyed by a gang of hippies waving joss sticks by me. I was incensed. ![]() |

Isn't incense a game for all the family?

Used Lemongrass yesterday and it smells like all the others! Never bought any before, so please can you direct me to those that are "good quality". I guess I could just go for the most expensive, making the assumption that they are the best but, as we know, that is not always the case! |

Have you tried Ona Block?
|

AP, if those joss-sticks smell all the same then they could be anything, possibly poisoning you, go to a reputable supplier....need some research.

I love Indian grub ..which I occasionally eat - the only trouble is it gives me terrible wind (farting) - do forumites think that burning joss sticks would help disguise the the terrible smell....

Yes, for sure, but only if you stick them up your bum..... ![]() |

Thanks Aunty ...
I'll try that - lit or unlit ? |
|
By:
Thanks Leopard....
Gonna extinguish this one as, again, it smells like all the others. Actually I don't feel too good in the throat department today.so I am going to bin the lot of them! Binned!!!! I said they smell of stale cig smoke, but it's more like when the farmers are burning stubble. |
|
By:
No wonder they say "use in a well ventilated area"!
I didn't, as I reasoned that doing so would be a waste of time. Will do some research later.... |
|
By:
I don't get it!
Both of the products I bought have nearly all five star reviews! |
|
By:
People will know you been having a sneaky one.
Just get an over load of them air wick reed diffusers. |

Or have rock iron over after his curry night.

This is just one part of very may derogatory articles on the subject....
Dr Manoon, who has just completed a two-year study of temple workers tasked with clearing the smouldering sticks, found the cocktail of chemicals in the smoke put them at risk of leukaemia, lung, blood and bladder cancers. "One joss stick creates the same amount of cancer-causing chemicals at one cigarette," said Dr Manoon, who led the research. "I knew there would be some carcinogens, but I was surprised by the levels." Does anyone want a brass inlaid, hardwood, Joss Stick holder, that I ordered yesterday? |

Aunty - you should take up smoking crystal meth instead - it's much easier to cover up the smell

|

injecting crystal meth means no smell at all
|
|

Aunty, try satya sai nag champa company sticks, lemon grass and cinnamon ( indian) sandlewood is main one but have others ..
Also prinknash abbey incense ( english) |

Thanks, I'll check it out but there is so much bad press about the tings being at least as bad as ciggies and warning people at places of worship that burn them making it sound not the best idea.
I have binned the first pack I was using, and some of the second pack, and the remainder went to a charity shop today. If anyone is interested, the brass inlaid, hardwood incense stick holder came yesterday, but no use for it now. I'm going to stick with my scented oil burners.... |
