Last month I was debating the political scene with my daughters father in law who rejoiced about having a real socialist party that represented the workers better. A good man,he really believed Jezza would bring change.
Today I read about Emily Thornberry, the new shadow defence secretary from the constituency next door in Islington, the lady who was scathing about the house with 3 flags outside his house when she tweeted a picture of it and Ed sacked her. It comes out now that she is the daughter of an Assistant Secretay General to the UN and her mother was a mayor ! Her title is Lady Nugee, sent her kids to a small selective school 10 miles away from where she lived and is married to a rich lawyer with a small property empire, some social housing stock which they rent out ?? What fecking planet do these people live on and who is daft enough to vote for them ??

It's a problem for sure. Labour like the poor and working class. They just don't like the white poor and working class especially outside London.

Corbyn is a prime example.

Dianne and Emily, the dream team of Labour now ! What a disaster for Jezza but he will stick by them cos they live next door and they want to feel good as they represent the wurkers and know whats best for us !!

This is the quandary.

I'm a pretty solid working class socialist. We are in the midst of unfettered capitalism that is seeing the gap between rich and poor going wider by the day and anyone not from a very small social class treated with disdain by both big business and government.

So while I'm very much pro-Corbyn and his version of politics would I prefer a Labour party that would swing back to the centre simply to get the Tories out.

But surely a political party should actually stand for something and not just sway in the wind of whatever's likely to garner the most votes at the next election.

The sad thing is the tories are leaving so many open goals for Labour to pummel them but they're too busy fighting themselves. The country's f*cked.

Sad but true PP, Jezza's legacy may be his best offer but his current performance isn't impressing anyone.

To be fair Gormless did spend a lot of money from 2002 onwards mobo. Not very wisely of course. So that's within the long held traditions of the movement.

Exactly mobo. I genuinely think there's a large part of the country that would agree with the majority of Corbyn's politics but he's being out-played by the opposition and the media. If he can stick it out, get the party going in the same direction and land a few blows while identifying an alternative I think we could see some change.

Sorry guys, any party with flabbot playing a leading role is a real turn off (on it's own) for a lot of people.

There may be some merit in what you say PP but appointing a clown like Thornberry who lives next door in north London is hardly the fault of the opposition or the media,he has shot himslef in the foot as he must have known about her ???

^ I think  his biggest problem is his own party are in disarray and do not back his vision for the party, the tory's are laughing all the way to another landslide sadly Sad
