I suppose a religious Muslim could believe in some of it's values, as some religious Christians believe
in some of the values from the Bible. I consider modern Western values very poor. |

 Incredibly interesting program on BBC4 tonight, The Crusades Here Christians were offered a chance to redeem their sins by fighting for God, retake Jerusalem. So it is not only Muslims who kill for their faith. It is amazing they even reached Jerusalem, they were continually attacked, faced starvation, desperate privation from hot and cold, they even tried to negotiate a truce enabling them to give up and come back at Antioch, most of them died on the way. But they did reach Jerusalem and took it. This was immediately followed by two days non stop slaughter of Muslims and Jews, as they unleashed all their pent up anger.  The point I was trying to make is there was no Muslim attacks on us in either 632 or 893 ok The Muslims were very much the same as us at the time people fought their country and for their faith, in fact we still do. The Crusades are a very good example of this. Both the Knights and the poorer people went out to the Holy Lad believing they fought for Christ they were not bad man. Neither is a Muslim who believes in his faith either, do you not see? But not all Crusaders were good , not all modern Muslims are good, but in the main they are just ordinary human beings. |

How were Muslims able to attack 'us' (presume you mean Britain) in 632 , they were thousands of miles away.
They attacked the nearest Christians they could find and carried on doing that for a hundred years til they were just outside Paris ,where they were finally defeated. |

Tours is 148 miles from Paris . Bit further than i thought tbh , but still that was the last decent army the Christians had to stop them with in Western Europe.

Although at that the time everybody tried to build an empire did they not? They do not attack us now apart from terrorist attacks done in retaliation for our attacks on their societies in the Middle East and Afghanistan. All the Muslims in Europe now are either economic migrants or refugees, hardly the same. |

After the fall of the Roman Empire, Europe itself entered the Dark Ages there were different peoples making claims to land everywhere
Muslim societies were in far a better state than us at the time. They were guardians of our knowledge for a while. It took a while for the basis of modern Europe to form, we ourselves changed form Celtic to Anglo(from Denmark) Saxon(from Germany). |

I know the cause of our present troubles ISRAEL SHOULD NOT EXIST The amount of human suffering and death caused by creating Israel is incredible. I have to regard it as a great evil. One cannot just give away half of somebody's country to somebody else. I cannot altogether blame the Jews for wanting their own country. But they had been far to long away to ever go back. I find the West more guilty in what they have done in support Israel. To attack Muddle Eastern countries and overthrow strong Arab leaders just to protect it, is too much. The West is at fault here not the Arabs or Muslims if you want to refer to them that way. I have no solution to our present position ps You know Israel support ISIS!..they buy their Oil |
