Don't think he got any credence by showing the card, as it looked quite obvious to me!

Having said that, you would think that the producers etc, would have explained the layout of the card to him,

Many years ago I came a close second in the Miss Brazil 1949 competition. Later that year I emigrated and was beset by a long period of bad luck.
