Welcome to the club.
They are full of propaganda, distortion and lies. |

ameliorates Get you wiv your attempt at big words
excuse would have been simpler and more accurate. |
|
By:
makes you wonder why people bothered making the difference between nazi,s and germans
|
|
By:
It's not all bad....
The BBC have gone too far over the last few years. This has made a lot of people see them for what they are.... they have lost a lot of credibility amongst the public. Folks are at last starting to see through the main stream media agenda |

By:
TheBaron,
I'd used the word excuse in the sentence and also ameliorate doesn't mean excuse ... Anyway to many chit chatters, ameliorate is a quite common word .. many of us are highly intelligent and use a wide vocabulary. And I've got maths O level |
|
By:
makes you wonder why people bothered making the difference between nazi,s and germans
Same thing. Blame the Nazis and excuse the Germans. Blame radicalised Muslims and excuse Islam. |
|

mememe
I meant just excuse was simpler and more accurate. Ameliorate is a poor and unecessary choice in this case. If you were as highly intelligent as what I am you'd realise that. |
|
By:
The baron,
I reckon I'm more intelligenter that you ... I also got physics and chemistry and biology O levels. And you should look up ameliorate as it's a good word to use. And I got my English language O level ... And them was in the days when an O level, hell any O level, was good. Probably equivalent to a 2.1 these days. But if you like, you can challenge me to a duel ... I have my thesaurus ready. |
|
By:
ameliorate is a nice word ...a favourite of Stephen Fry's but not appropriate in the context used
And I don't need no online wordy book to tell me that, I'm so intelligent I know these things . |
|
By:
The baron I agree that it's a nice word and it is agood one to use in this context.
But we'll have to agree to disagree on this |
|
By:
In the terms of what is being discussed I couldn't give a flying fck, if the word is contextually correct or not, this is a betting forum FFS pedants can fck themselves.
As it happens the word IS BEING CORRECTLY USED and describes perfectly the effect that the BBC hope's to achieve. |

"FFS ... or is it me that just intensely dislikes the BBC and it's clouding my judgement"
BBC is infested with Muslim lovers and numpty leftists. BBC appoints first Muslim head of religious programming ??? WTF.. ![]() And this a Christian Country ...? Phucking bstards ! |
|
By:
The BBC is a bit biased, but I don't really see the problem here. Blowing yourself up in a crowded marketplace to please Allah is quite radical, after all. Radicalise seems like an appropriate word.
|
|
By:
seems fair to me - if they all did it in syria there wouldn't be any left - somewhat self defeating - yah know - 30,000 daesh all blowing themselves up
they sure would run out of virgins at that rate !!! |
|
By:
but the beeb beeb ceeb must not upset them!!!!
ps anyone think the televisual advert by betfair is a bit radicalising and inappropriate ?? TAP TAP BOOM!!!! then again most of you can't afford a televisual apparatus |
|
By:
It's curious, for over 30 years I cannot ever remember the BBC referring to Irish Republicans who bombed the UK mainland as 'radicalised' (or 'extremist' for that matter). They were referred to simply as 'terrorists' for the vast majority of the time.
Why is this generation of Islamic terrorists almost being dignified, excused, understood by (particularly) BBC reporting? Don't these bombers/killers have working brains of their own that can either accept or reject the poisonous message they might be receiving? |
|
By:
To dismiss the many complicated reasons for their acts of terror simply as "radicalisation" by a broadcaster is bordering on criminal. Lets ignore the fact that it begins and ends with their religion, and twisted versions of it, but don't lose sight of the fact that this 'moderate' religion will have women stoned, young girls mutilated, and apostates killed etc, etc, in It's name. The op is correct.
alun your point illustrates this perfectly. |

Someone, probably from Blair's crowd will have told the BBC we need to appease muslims so they do not feel under attack from the majority in UK in order to prevent a civil war mentality developing. The eejits will have misunderstood that constant appeasement will encourage the more radicalised element to push ever further until the majority lose their phecking tempers completely and exactly what they feared will result.
