I'd rather my tax go towards helping a family of refugees who have escaped the horrors of war as opposed to a family of British people who have made no effort to gain employment and who are happy to get bailed out by the state.

As alun, said on another thread "What staggers any onlooker is the overwhelming sense of entitlement these people must feel they have."........
They regard any assistance given as their right, can't see them changing their attitude any time soon |

There's no hypothecation of taxes Eboue but many of us would agree with your view but the problem is there appear far too few families and an awful lot of 20 year old men. Many of the true refugees may well be in the various camps bordering Syria.

" Many of the true refugees may well be in the various camps bordering Syria." That would certainly appear to be situation EO.

Mr Eboue has this Left hatred of your own and love of the strange.
He knows nothing about this Syrian family but will he vouch for them. If one of them turns out a Jihadist will he feel any guilt. He won't but in pure Bono/ Geldof fashion he will feel good about himself,he will parade this goodness to other Left wing elites. |

You know nothing about me sir so stop with the inane drivel.
Cheers. |

Hopefully they will fill Notting Hill with them. Thats where most of the noise comes from about helping terrorists into this country.

wildman.... the wonders of punctuation
![]() "Mostly they are but increasingly you are getting sullen immigrants who are constantly complaining, they should be sent home." I agree that those who complain thus should certainly be free to go home. "Mostly they are, but increasingly you are getting sullen immigrants who are constantly complaining; They should be sent home". Presumably this is what you meant. Hope this helps your crusade . |
|
By:
Surely as you are writing after your correction it should be Presumably that is what you meant.
Hope this helps with your grammar crusade . |

Mr Eboue we know plenty about you,it comes from reading your posts.
I accept Blackbarns criticism and acknowledge it reads much better with the right punctuation. |
|
By:
Sadly punctuation is being used less and less every day, but that's what happens with a living language, things change, not necessarily for the better. There's always Latin for those who don't like it.
![]() I stopped getting hung up over it years ago. On a forum even more so. As long as the sentiment and message are discernible, then I don't give a fck. |

Boxingthefox you will remember the Primary.
I left school after the Primary, that's the way it was in those days,I was 11 years old. |
|
By:
Plenty will say it shows.

|
By:
Not as grateful as the emigrants!
|
|
By:
I agree boxing, this is not a subject to get precious about these days. However, when wildman suggests that immigrants are complaining they should be sent home, when he means that immigrants are that are complaining should be sent home, this is worthy of comment imo. Even he agrees.

Wildman - "I left school after the Primary, that's the way it was in those days,I was 11 years old"
Forgive the impertinence but how old are you? |
|
By:
...My education, was pretty crap, didn't start until I was 7 1/2 yrs old due to hospitalization. 4 1/2 years late My parents came to England and the school I then went to was a church run sh1thouse, not even a 3rd cousin to the national curriculum. I never sat I exam, I left at 15, 5 years late I was managing a factory with over a hundred staff, and went on to manage much bigger factories. It's obvious to me from your posts especially on the Irish forum, that intellect was not rationed when you came into this world. Blackbarn, I wasn't having a dig at you, just saying how I feel about it, but I am retired and no longer need to represent my employer with carefully worded, well presented documents. The last time I had to do that was when dealing with the German and Israeli government officials. |

with (the ffs) German and Israeli government officials.* see what I mean.

Boxing - no offence taken or intended. I was merely curious as to how old you were now to have left school at the end of primary age.
I remember being 11 quite vividly, but as for leaving school at that age. God forbid. My only claim to fame at that age was that I could paunch and skin a rabbit inside two minutes and recite every Derby and Grand National winner in history (to win bets for my Dad in the pub) |

By:
Hope you're ready for this blackbarn I'm about 7 months older than Kenny mann

Hard to credit but I used to parrot out all those big race winners too.

I am a mere stripling at 63 - Santa Claus won the Derby when I really started showing off - Guinness may have heard this before, but my dad used to bet blokes in the pub that I knew the Derby and Grand National winner for the year they were born. All went blindingly well until an old guy born in 1902 lost dad money. Could I remember bloo dy Ard Patrick - I tried to redeed my reputation with knowing that Sceptre won the other four classics that year but to no avail. I've never got over it

I got my interest in horses at an early age (11)
My Dad had £5ew on Nicolaus Silver @33s in 61 which was quite a fortune then. Treated the family when he'd sobered up. Easy money thought I rather naively. |

Had the good fortune to see many greats, including Himself, Flyingbolt etc. happy days.
