I am in South Africa from xmas day until 9th Jan.  By the time I get back we will be one sixth of the way back to the latest sunset amd that lighting up time will be rapidly accelerating later and later.  I can almost smell the bbqs already.

Had most of the windows open here in North Yorks, for some well needed fresh air.

I always looked forward to Summer, but gave up years ago, as it just doesn't happen anymore.

Wish we could have clean cut, and reliable seasons, like many in the world seem to enjoy!

This market is without Russia!

Cut grass yesterday. Twas like Spring. Still get a dawn chorus most mornings.

Incredible scenes.
Report boxingthefox • December 20, 2015 6:45 PM GMT
Injera, here's a top tip, as you've just cut your grass, fill a watering can add half a bottle of whiskey, the cheaper the better, make sure you do the whole lawn.
Report boxingthefox • December 20, 2015 6:46 PM GMT
^^^ it will save you a lot of work!!!Happy
Report Injera • December 20, 2015 6:59 PM GMT
A terrible waste sir..!

Industrial Roundup (not the garden centre shoite) does a thorough job.

Dec 12, Foi.

It's definitely lighter now than it was on Dec 13 last year. Plain

By the end of January it'll still be light at 4.45 Plain

Good grief, you're right! BlushCool

I've just looked it up for Brum which should be about the same for Tommy in Stoke-on-Trent.

_______________

i'd say Russia gets the most reliable seasons in the world . Freezing winters and boiling hot summers - how reliable do you want them  lol ?

UK has the least reliable  - last years shortest day in the UK was warmer than the longest day .

I would call that mental
Report Coachbuster • December 13, 2016 6:25 PM GMT

day of the year with shortest hours of daylight and earliest sunset are not the same day. a common misconception
