The cueball was heavy.

By that I mean the white was too heavy, not a perfect match with the colours, a fact apparent upon analysis of its immediate deflection path after collision.  This is a common occurrence at club level, but seldom seen on the world stage.  Players of both teams struggled badly yesterday, continually missing on the thick side and attributing the cause to kicks or similar bad contacts.  It's a shame none (on or off the table) seemed to realise the true reason for this misfortune.
