I bought a fountain pen for myself, which is astonishingly good quality, for only a fiver shipped all that way.
So impressed am I with it, that I bought another one, from a different seller, for £2.02 as a gift.
How the hell do they make something this good, and send it halfway round the world, for less than what we would have to pay for postage alone?
Only niggle is that it was supposed to come in a velvet pouch, but came in just a plastic sleeve! . http://www.amazon.co.uk/Estone-Jinhao-Fountain-Black-Medium/dp/B00M2NM10A/ref=pd_bia_nav_i_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0BDCCF7XTXDVWXJEN3DM
A shipping account with the likes of UPS can be as little as 4 quid a kilo for a 2 day air freight delivery from China, UK postage maybe 40p with a franking machine.
Anything over 90p should be profit.

I bought mine as was hoping to retrieve some style to my handwriting of which I am now embarrassed.
At primary school it was initially 'BIG & ROUND'.
Later it was Italics and my writing was superb.
So much so that I was second in "The National Handwriting & Art Competition".
Then up to big school and it all fell apart, as we had to take dictation, and my Italics was way too slow.
Later during my design experience all the notes on my drawings were in capitals. So now I always write in capitals but, because of my shaky hands, my writing is an embarrassment, and lower case joined up is a lost cause!
I just thought that maybe going back to a fountain pen, might help to recover some style, for writing greetings cards etc.
Thus far unfortunately that hasn't happened but I haven't given up yet.....
