This is the only live recording of Sibelius conducting his own music. It was certainly played at his funeral and I believe was the only piece of his work to be played. He wrote the tune for the 25th anniversary of a sawmill. It is my single favourite piece of Sibelius apart from the first half of his 7th Symphony (not that much wrong with the second half, mind!
