...is Roger Moore.

I'd always assumed he'd gone "Hur hur! I bet I could roger more if I were a famous actor and had called himself Roger Moore", but Wiki reckons:

Sir Roger George Moore KBE (born 14 October 1927) is an English actor.

Well, you live and learn.

An historian believes he may have found the earliest recorded use of the word “f***” in the English language where its meaning carries a clear sexual connotation, hidden within court records from 1310, concerning a man named Roger F*ckebythenavele.

Dr Paul Booth, a former lecturer in medieval history and an honorary senior research fellow in history at Keele University, made the accidental discovery in a set of Chester County court documents from September 1310 while researching the period of Edward II.

Dr Booth told the MailOnline that when he first came across the case of Roger F*ckebythenavele, he thought the moniker was a nickname dreamed up by a court clerk as a joke.

However, the name was repeated clearly three times, “and I think that shows it is not a joke,” he said.

I've actually got a friend called Roger Moore although he has always gone by the name of Wally. He was born just before The Saint started on TV so he wasn't named after the actor and
his parents weren't the type who would've spotted the innuendo in their child's name.
So there are More Roger Moores. Plain

Does/did he use it to pick up girls? Quite a big advantage being called Roger Moore imo.

no he favours Anthony Quinn in looks, but he's never been that successful with the fairer sex; preferring to maintain and stay loyal to a harridan of a wife. Happy
