only 20 people outside my local (big) Tesco at 5am when they opened for this.  dunno where all the animals from last year have gone. Started midnight last year - the 5am thing done to take the heat - ie the animals - out of the situation.

Been on amazon and got a 32" Sony Smart TV with £180 off, for the bedroom wall. Picked up some DVDs and PS3 games for the kids Xmas stockings at various reductions and got 3.5kg PHD Pharma Whey for £50, which was less than half price.
Am done now, I'm sat at my machine and it's exhausting, never mind wrestling the oiks.

The only way Wlad-Fury will be any better, Mik, is if Fury has an Oliver McCall style meltdown as Wlad relentlessly jabs him to a points defeat.

How come the expression BLACK FRIDAY hasn't been designated as a racist term by the 'progressive' and Self-Imagined Anti-Racist types?

After all, consider the evidence :

Blackboards : all racist obviously, every single one of them dismantled and inexplicably replaced by whiteboards

Black Sheep :  another term routinely hollered down when used, lest the sky falls in

Black Coffee :  asking for one of these would get you thrown out of any self-respecting, anti-racist, fashion-people cafe.

So how come Black Friday has escaped without censure?

it's a stupid name for sure. It's far more suited to a major stock market or currency crash occurring on (obviously) a Friday.
And yes it must be triggering people left (particularly) right & centre

The BBC's Emma Simpson has been speaking to the manager of a big store selling household goods. He says that customers have been waking up in the middle of the night, ordering online and then going back to bed, knowing that they can collect from the store later.

Mobo,

Don't know if you saw it, but The Guardian's front page this morning is inadvertently hilarious, proudly advertising a feature somewhere inside the rag called "Rebel Music - Syrian Artists in Exile".

I'm guessing but I think something like that could only be of interest to around 0.000001% of the UK newspaper-buying public, and probably less still of the newspaper's typical readership.

It's a bit like the Christmas 'Radio Times' magazine devoting the front cover to a programme that comes on Welsh language channel S4C at around 09-15 hrs on a Sunday morning over the Yuletide period.
